The illegal immigrant accused of murdering 32 yr-old Kathryn Steinle of San Francisco spoke with a local ABC affiliate and admitted to shooting, but says it was an accident as he was high on sleeping pills he took out of a dumpster.

Francisco Sanchez, 45, who had been deported five times but said he chose to live in San Francisco due to it's status as a "sanctuary city," says he found the gun he used wrapped in a t-shirt on San Francisco's Pier 14, and it inadvertently fired three times after he picked it up. Previously, Sanchez had told police he was shooting at seals.

Sanchez obviously doesn't realize he shouldn't be speaking without a lawyer, nonetheless he says he's "feeling sorry for everybody" including the family he hurt and has asked to be subjected to the harshest punishment a court can give, saying he no longer wants to live.

The story is being pointed to as evidence Trump was right about illegal immigrants bringing crime to America.
