Video Shows Deputy Pry Open Woman's Mouth After She Takes Tylenol

A woman was injured and then charged with resisting arrest after a Summit County sheriff’s deputy pried open her jaw after she took prescription Tylenol.

The incident took place in a prisoner-holding room in domestic relations court where Siobhan Householder, 35, said she was told to wait last week while a warrant was being lifted on a charge of failing to appear at a hearing.

The Akron woman went to court on her own May 8 and said she didn’t believe she was in custody and, therefore, felt free to take the Tylenol for a tooth infection.

A sheriff’s spokesman, however, said Wednesday that the woman was in custody and she was stopped from taking the medication for her own protection.

72182 Severe automatic penalties including losing their job and pension, face prison time, and being banned from ever serving as a law enforcement official should be introduced for policemen who lie in court, use excessive force against a citizen, or betray the public trust.

They are hired to serve and protect, not to bully, beat up, and kill their fellow citizens. The police should get back onto the beat – on foot or bicycle. The police should be accountable to local communities – and chief police officers should be fired and possibly fined or imprisoned if crime levels rise.

Decriminalize and tax all illegal drugs and stop the ineffective, expensive and deadly War on Drugs. If the money wasted on policemen and drug enforcement agencies was spent on education there would be far less drug abuse. The War on Drugs is an excuse to remove more and more of our freedoms – it keeps drug prices high, encourages crime rewards drug barons and does nothing whatsoever to prevent drug abuse.
