Criminal Justice Student Gets A Taste Of The Criminal Justice System

A criminal justice student admiring the work of police at a speed trap got a taste of the criminal justice system when a cop grabbed her by her hair and dragged her to jail for questioning his authority.

Abie Kyle Ikhinmwin, 25, was sitting on her bicycle at a bus stop while photographing a speed trap on a Texas highway and sharing the pictures on Facebook, “I told my friends, 'This is where our funding is going, straight into hard police work.'"

It was then that a "hard working" police officer approached her and threatened to arrest her for being a traffic hazard.

“What’s the traffic violation? I’m 12 inches from the curb. Am I not 12 inches within the curb?”

“No m’aam. It’s not the curb.”

“OK. What is it?”

“Let me see some ID, please. Let me see some ID.”

“No.”

The officer then arrested her for failure to ID, which again, is not a crime unless you're under arrest or driving a car. Nonetheless, they dropped that charge and instead decided to charge her for "failure to obey a police officer," and "impeding traffic," because charges are things to be made up in post.

Perhaps Abie will now realize she should be fighting the police rather than working for them.
