98149 here's a great rebuttal in the youtube comments from someone who actually understands technology

"I've been a software developer for over forty years, and Reisman is wrong EVERY TIME he says that computers or programs "can't do" something, not only theoretically, but in real world practical applications today. The straight argument from economics still applies; he should have stuck to that, or consulted someone knowledgeable about artificial intelligence."

As for my own view on this. When most discuss that "robots won't take our jobs, they'll make us able to get better jobs!", I have to just laugh at whatever imaginary world they live in where the job market isn't already horrible slanted in favor of the employers. People are clamoring for entry level medial jobs as it is, if we lose those to robots where are those people going to find work?

I want tech to continue to advance just as much as the next guy, but to ignore the potential perils it will bring without drastic changes to our society shows a lack of economic reality which is a common occurrence for economic theorists.
