Cop Who Pulled Gun On Man For 'Holding Up McDonald's Drive-Thru Line' Gets Probation, Community Service

Chris | InformationLiberation

Veteran police officer Detective Sgt. Scott Biumi, 48, of the DeKalb County Police Department was caught on video pulling a gun on Ryan Mash, 18, who was at the front a McDonald's drive-thru line, because he felt the young man was responsible for "holding up" the line. He was indited on two counts of aggravated assault back in July of last year. Biumi was finally just sentenced, all he's getting is 10 years probation and 120 hours community service -- no jail time.

Here's a thought experiment to question if we have a two-tiered justice system: What do you think the punishment would have been if it was a citizen who pulled a gun on a cop because he thought he was holding up a McDonald's drive-thru line?

See the original story with video of the assault here:

68107 in most states a verbal terroristic threat is an automatic 1 year in prison.pull a weapon of any type and the time in prison goes up according to the weapon,a gun being the most serious.unless you are a cop I guess it is different

@dougo, however, had this incident taken place in California, this cop would have been hailed as a hero.

"in most states a verbal terroristic threat is an automatic 1 year in prison....unless you are a cop I guess it is different" - dougo

your comment confounds me. cops must both, enforce, and, deploy, terrorist threats on a daily basis. "i'm having trouble distinguishing the differences in your comment (in regards to police v people)" in other words: (In my view), cops are faced with far greater consequences than those which the people are. if that was your point, then, please, forgive my ignorance

off topic here dougo... my computer is being hacked as write this comment in response to yours; can mean only one of three things: you've broken through, or, you are about to, break through the matrix..... or, you play for the NFL. Needless to say, i'm skeptical of your motives.

7469 This from a DETECTIVE SERGEANT! Not some rookie. And not only didn't this maniac get jail seems he kept his job! UNFATHOMABLE! I think he's proven that he shouldn't be trusted to weild the level of authority with which he's been entrusted. I'm disturbed to see SO MANY stories, online, about police officers committing terrible acts of brutality and then being let off with a slap on the wrist. It's a terrible pandemic.

50109 In the new amerika, gangs of steroid thug-cowards roam about looking for those whom they can murder, beat, tase, bully and rob. As morality has vanished in amerika, the ranks of police departments have surged with low IQ imbeciles, shell-shocked clown vets, and various other assorted rapists and sadists, all seeking state-sanctioned power to bully, rob and murder. "As ye sow so shall ye reap" is the promised return 'investment' for those who abuse others. It is a tried and true standard that always applies itself to the wicked. It will come in many forms to payback these sick vermin: spousal adultery, rebellious children, mysterious illnesses, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc.

205250 I used to think the people of America were losing their Country but after seeing stuff like this and the results, i would have to say the Country is pretty much done in already. When are people going to stand up and take back their Country?

76172 When cops start pushing too hard we will see more bullets fly their way. Planned attacks are inevitable with the increased harassment from our so called protectors.
