In this shocking video out of Atlantic City, police are seen mercilessly beating a young man, then mauling him with a police K-9, all while he shows no resistance and was reportedly screaming "I'm not resisting!"

David Connor Castellani, 20, was kicked out of a casino earlier for being a year too young, and incidentally he got into a verbal argument with the officers outside on the street. After he expressed some choice words, five officers are seen running to Castellani from across the street and begin to brutally beat him, hitting him repeatedly with batons and kneeing him from multiple angles. If that beating wasn't bad enough, a sixth K-9 officer shows up and without any serious assessment of the situation, immediately releases a rabid dog onto Castellani. The K-9 is seen viciously chomping into Castellani's neck and the back of his head. Castellani's mother said her son's back and head "looked like Hamburger Helper” and he required over 200 stitches to close his wounds, additionally he was left with permanent nerve damage and muscle paralysis.

To add insult to injury, the police then charged Castellani with aggravated assault.

Sterling Wheaten, the officer who released the rabid dog on Castellani, "has been sued three times in the last three years for abusing citizens and has been investigated by internal affairs more than a dozen times in two years for excessive force," Carlos Miller notes.

Atlanta police chief Ernest Jubiliee viewed the video of the incident and said he “saw no reason to suspend or remove officers from their regular duties.”

Fortunately, the incident was caught on video. Castellani family is trying to get the charges against their son dropped, and they're filing suit against the officers. The police meanwhile are stonewalling while they investigate themselves.
