Police Say Employer Tipped Off Police To Pressure Cooker And Backpack Searches, Not Google

The Suffolk County Police Department has just released the following information related to the case:
Suffolk County Criminal Intelligence Detectives received a tip from a Bay Shore based computer company regarding suspicious computer searches conducted by a recently released employee. The former employee’s computer searches took place on this employee’s workplace computer. On that computer, the employee searched the terms “pressure cooker bombs” and “backpacks.”

After interviewing the company representatives, Suffolk County Police Detectives visited the subject’s home to ask about the suspicious internet searches. The incident was investigated by Suffolk County Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Detectives and was determined to be non-criminal in nature.

Any further inquiries regarding this matter should be directed to the Suffolk County Police Department

12169 but what "probable cause" did police claim to have to go talk to the people?
what probable cause is there with pressure cookers and backpacks?

until boston incident noone would have ever put those 2 things together , and frankly I STILL DON'T. i don't understand how a pressure cooker UNPLUGGED from any receptacle, is any more dangerous than a toaster, a minifridge, or any damn object on the planet. nor a damn backpack. this is 100% bullshit by the police, period.

if the employer freaked out over the 2 terms, the cops would get a call and should ask for more info from the caller. and not rush out like something heinous occurred.

we get the same thing with open carry; the "anonymous caller" is the problem - not the open carrier; if cops don't start upholding THE DAMN LAW then how are they "law enforcers" ? when cops break the law, sorry they're not fucking cops anymore and need to be treated as criminals. if i'm open carrying, and a soccer mom pisses her pants, that's her problem. if she calls the cops, then she's exploiting the cops to harass me, and i will quickly become a legal problem for her.

if the cop is idiot enough to run up pointing his gun at me for open carrying, he's now a violent felon committing lethal assault.

NOBODY is following the fking written law anymore! what's the point?!
