Video Shows Dunn, NC Police Officer Grab Citizen's Phone for Filming

Chris | InformationLiberation

Apparently, the altercation sent the videographer to the emergency room, now he says he's being stonewalled in his attempt to press charges against the officer. Of course, he has every right to film the officer and the cop has no right to stop him from filming.

From dansol72 on YouTube:
Police brutality Dunn,NC cop assaulting citizen. officer chris a. autry assaults citizen and violates civil rights. I received an injury from officer c.a.autry,
along with a large bill for being seen in the emergency room. Is that justice? Public officials in harnett county are doing everything in their power to prevent me from going to court. 10 days into this and the magistrate jerry latta will not let me file charges against the officer. I need everyone to share these videos. I have contacted th NC attorney generals office for help and the FBI. I am waiting for a response.

20138 I honestly think nowdays in many cases cops of course are lashing out at photographers recording them because they don't want people seeing what they are doing, but I also think in a LOT of the cases like this one, it isn't to cover up their actions, it's that simple, human feeling that you don't like being recorded. My mother-in-law a lot of times records...nothing, just us family, but honestly it gets annoying having a camera in your face, being recorded. Many just don't like the feeling, and I'm sure many cops like this one just are thinking "man, why should I have to put up with this? It never used to be like this"
At the same time, we citizens are not too enamored of YOUR newest toys, like tasers used as punishment, compliance instead of "instead of shooting" (which still happens as much or more), or other tricks you guys have worked out. So...sorry officer, if you don't like being filmed, you ought to go in another branch. It's here to stay, and it's going to happen more and more, and will expose a lot of those new toys being used wrongly.
SO I'm not excusing, just...I see there are situations where they object to being recorded because they are acting badly, and other times where it is just like a big "sigh", and they just plain dislike being taped, as many non-cops do, but TOO BAD.

7063 It looks to me that the "good citizen" in this case put himself in this situation. There is clearly a suspect in custody in his patrol vehicle and here this guy comes out of nowhere walking up to his car with a camera. How would the officer know if the man meant him harm or not? This man could have been a family member to the girl in the car... Hell for all we know this man may have made threats to the officer before he ever got in his car with his suspect. Don't pass judgment on the officer without knowing the facts of the case. So with that I say, if you mind your own business stuff like this wouldn't happen to you. Furthermore you ended up in the hospital? What is that about? This looks like a vary public place so I'm sure you didn't get beat down or anything by this cop! Sounds to me like you are just a low life POS trying to get some money.
