Caught on Tape: Rehoboth Beach, DE Cop Tazes Man Then Stomps On His Face

Chris | InformationLiberation

In this newly posted video, Delaware police officer Robert Whitman of the Rehoboth Beach police is seen on video cavalierly tazing 34-year-old Jeremy Anderson of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, then disturbingly stomping his face into hard pavement.

Jeremy Anderson was placed in the bizarre position of being torn between "not resisting" and trying to guard himself from 50,000 volts of electricity about to be pumped into his body by another cop. While being handcuffed, with one hand behind his back and an officer on top of him, Anderson is seen on video moving his other arm to try and defend himself from Whitman's taser, officer Robert Whitman is then seen brutally stomping Anderson's face twice into the pavement. Anderson's doctors said he suffered a concussion as a result of the vicious assault.

Here's a local news report in the incident from NBC Philadelphia.

[Headphone warning: the audio/video goes completely haywire and blasts really loud after the 1:53 mark.]
The man in the video, 34-year-old Jeremy Anderson of Mechanicsburg, Pa., says he didn’t deserve the treatment he received from the three officers. He claims the entire ordeal started after he got into a verbal altercation with a hotel worker over a room key. Once police arrived, Anderson says they began to use a taser on him.

“He tased me in the chest,” he said. “I fell to the ground and he shot me with a dart in the back. He tased me multiple times in the spine.”

Anderson’s wife, Candace Brubaker, soon arrived and turned on her cellphone camera while begging the officers to stop.

“I was horrified,” said Brubaker. “You hear me in the video, I was simply horrified.”

Anderson was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and offensive touching of law enforcement. He spent two nights in jail before Brubaker posted a $7,000 bond. Once he was released, Anderson says he was told by doctors that he suffered a concussion.

“I have severe head pain, severe back pain and my nerves were freaking shot,” said Anderson.
The police chief says he's "investigating" but none of the officers involved have been fired.

80202 Where I live we just recently got e channel Fox Crime. They show old episodes of "Cops".
Now, I'm olde enough to remember when cops treated citizens differently. I saw it escalate, but even so, I was SHOCKED to see how humane, human, and civil they were when that show started. And I mean in New York, Cleveland, city, country. They didn't have tasers back then, but they also didn't treat citizens OR perps, or suspects as they do nowadays. Seriously, we would be totally happy with those kinds of cops, but it seems like now we see them act as if they were an occupying army, and hated the folks that love there. Cops used to use psychology and street smarts to get things in order, instead of brute force.

76100 A shame on thy house, O Rehoboth!

This man has obvious mental issues and the over-weight police have no clue how to deal with it. Then we wonder how rage-massacres are spawned.

And shame on WUSA channel 9 for cutting the video so as not to show the head-stomping.

10845 I have visited Rehoboth FOR 55 YEARS. None of this kind of behavior is new for the Rehoboth police. This is just the first time its ever been caught on video.

204227 This is typical Rehoboth/Dewey Beach Police behavior.
They do not respect people, exercise brutal acts, take the law into their own hands and violate constituional rights.
They get their kicks by arresting teenagers that are caught drinking beer,
They treat them like harden criminals, Instead of just giving them a fine or warning. I am appalled to know an incident concerning a member of my family was not isolated .
They invaded a house without a warrant, kicked in a door made
kids take breath test, arrested those that declined or spoke out
for their rights. One officer grab a kid smashed him against a wall, hand cuffed him , simply for speaking up for another boy who was deliberately being humiliated by the officer.
Police brutality in this town needs to stop.

2100 It gets you thinking.. just because the government are the government, should this give them power over us?

71207 FYI this asshole is dead. The lady behind the camera ran him over with a minivan...

Interesting, how amazing they managed to coerce him into into taking a plea deal after they were the ones to violently assault him. They absconded themselves of any responsibility, of course, the kick to the head was justified saying he "tried" to bite him in the leg, laugh.
