Christopher Dorner: Ex-cop once found $8,000 of church money in the middle of the road and handed it in to police

By SIMON TOMLINSON, TIM PERONE, MICHAEL ZENNIE and HELEN POW

The ex-Los Angeles police officer who has allegedly gunned down three people and remains on the lam once handed in nearly $8,000 of church money that he found in the middle of the road, it has emerged.

Then-Navy ensign, Christopher Dorner, was hailed a hero in Enid, Oklahoma, after he and a military colleague found the bag of cash back in November 2002 and promptly handed it to police. The pair told a local newspaper at the time that the good deed was 'an integrity thing.'

The bag of money turned out to be donations collected by the nearby Korean Church of Grace during a Sunday service. It had slipped off the roof of church member Byung-Moon Jang's car as he was driving it to the bank.

Now, 11 years later, Jang said he was shocked and 'truly troubled' to hear news of a national manhunt for Dorner, who he recalled as selfless and honest.

'I feel sad to hear that. We thought he was so honest and a young American man with a bright future,' Jang told Koco.com. 'To hear this news is truly troubling.'

97121 The LAPD's story is quickly falling apart. They better hurry up and wack Dorner or the truth may emerge. Can't have that happening.

17454 I would trust Dorner over LAPD any day of the week. LAPD have already showed us their true nature. Shoot at anything close to looking like Dorner's truck and ask questions later.
After all I have been reading on this site, I can't believe there is an insurance company in this world that would insure any police dept in California. No wonder the state is bankrupt.

173176 What is shocking is that they're shooting first and asking questions later. Now, whether he's murderer or dangerous or not, what happened to the rule of law? What happened to apprehending the suspect and facing a trial? It's outrageous that the powers that be are using this as a reason to use drones in American skies... Shoot first... that's what happens in free America? National manhunt...

The "manifesto" could have been posted by anyone. These are all just allegations and it just stinks of a set-up.

206223 I am so glad people are seeing through to why the LAPD need to kill him before he has a chance to have his official story heard. He must know something really important.....

Do you remember that FBI agent down in California last year who they ended up doing a massive search for? They said he was "suicidal" and "violent". I still think something was up with that, but no one comments on it.
