108211 Always choose Judge Napolitano !!
He knows the law, he stands with the constitution,
and his judgement is fair.

The guy defending the whacko Miami judge is clearly on the side
of dictatorship, and egotism. He and the whacko judge should try
30 days in jail for not understanding the law, or the correct role of a judge.

After all, according to their philosophy, lack of respect is a crime, and both of them lack respect and common courtesy for fellow human beings.

66229 Corrupt judges abuse power all the time. If your that all so powerful over other peoples lives, then you needs to be responsible enough to handle that much power over other peoples lives. This judge was being a dick and if the tables were turned , he wouldnt like it either.

97104 While I can see the free speech/corrupt judge argument...you don't have to invite trouble.

"Let me take this BIG HAMMER and hit my toe...OW!! Gee that hurt!!"

Too bad it was only 30 days: if he'd executed her humanity's average intelligence would have gone up. Significantly.

207109 You should never support another man's ability to LORD over us. Our society can do better than we currently are, by far, but this will not ever happen until people can unite and agree to stop the abuse that happens to us daily by those we 'elect'. An oppresser will never agree to give up power, its up to the oppressed to say 'enough'.

108211 freedom of speech or opinion IS NOT A CRIME.

How dare this moron question what her jewelry is worth?
Is that respectful? Is it professional?

He initiated the disrespect.

97104 Questioning what her jewelry is worth makes sense. Bond is based on available assets; if her jewelry was valuable, $5000 bond may be too low to encourage her to return. Any judge would ask its value, just like they ask the value of your house.

Contempt of court, or "willful disobedience to or open disrespect for the rules or orders of a court," is punishable in every court . She's a little idiot, with too little self restraint to even save her disdain and disrespect for outside the court. You can argue about the law, but that's what it is, and if you're going to go up and punch the officer in the nose (or openly disrespect the judge in court) you only get what you deserve.

That type of disrespect draws punishment almost anywhere. Be honest: How many of you would knock her down or twist her arm if she waved that finger half an inch from YOUR nose? That's equivalent to what she did, in court, before a judge.

Free speech carries with it the responsibility for appropriate use. She has no responsibility.
