Santa Ana, CA: Cops Intimidate Man For Filming

"We were told that a Santa Ana school cop was terrorizing students everyday after school in front of McFadden Intermediate. We went to go see what it was about not thinking that we would actually catch the cop doing it. It turned out to be worse than we thought. Upon arriving the cop was doing exactly what people say he does. When he saw us observing and documenting his actions he called for back up. Cop after cop began showing up, including Sergeant Brian Harris. They completely disregarded the fact that we were there to help the student and concentrated on impeding our right to hold the cop accountable to the community. Watch the video."

174234 Listen. I am against power crazy cops and realize there are a several but it looks like he was being pretty cool at first. Whomever was filming wouldn't shut up and was being smart mouthed. You should've let him take care of what he was doing and then approached him. He didn't know who you were or what you had in mind. Maybe he put that girl for her protection against not knowing who you were.
I wouldn't like the idea of my kids being filmed or harassed either but this should've been handled another way. Internal Affairs, CHP or the school district.
People like you are the ones that will scream and cry for the police to help you in your time of need but complain about them doing their jobs. How do you know what he pulled that car over? What if he ignored a tip and those kids had weapons and went on a shooting spree? Once again you would be the first one whining about how that cop should've been more aggressive on following up on info he received.
If I had kids and there was a cop at their school and my kids were being little punks I would support the cop in pulling them over and setting them straight.
Let them do their jobs. Kids will complain and stretch the truth about things that happen. Maybe these kids that complained about the cop harassing them were causing trouble and the cop was keeping an eye on them. There has to be another side to this story that you are not reporting. It reeks of media bias. If this is such a big deal why haven't we heard about this from other new organizations? It looks to me this cop was doing his job.
