University Student Vs. Campus Police -- Student Wins

Chris | InformationLiberation

A bold university student records his entertaining tongue lashing of two campus police intent on searching his dorm. Little did the campus police know he was recording his interaction with them, and after searching his dorm against school policy, they flee once they realize they're being videotaped!

Interestingly, the idiot masses are interpreting this video completely wrong (imagine that) and are saying this youth is the one in the wrong! Fortunately, ridefree on reddit dug up the university's room entry policy and it explicitly states "Authorization to enter a student's room under this policy does not constitute authorization to conduct a search of the room."

The campus cop was in the wrong as he searched through the young man's refrigerator against school policy.

Was the young man being "belligerent" as everyone is all up in arms about? Well, yes, but so were the campus police. Regardless, being belligerent is not grounds for a search.

It will be interesting to see if the university tries to kick the young man out for defending his rights, or if they uphold their own rules and fire the campus police. For some reason, I don't think they'll choose the latter.

Update: The university made the right decision and fired the criminal cop.

This chico was completely out of order, he should have lain calmly on the floor and submitted to the Gestapo....and then with his video evidence of trespass sued the school (calmly).

68235 Less foul language would have been in his favor..

166122 Trying to pick a fight is real smart. Escalation is really the way to go. I guess in a world of entitlement when this idiot is the victim of a crime he will be screaming bloody murder. And yes you were beligerent, antagonistic, and sadly ignorant. Sad world we live in.

7282 The officer assulted him, and entered without consent. Yes, less language would have been good, but the student has civil rights, and I hope the officers were fired.

17624 With a good enough lawyer he could sue the school, the police for breaking and entering, and for excessive force.

2421 Well, the student is a bit of a douche, but good on him for standing up to those bullies so intent on throwing their weight around.

2498 Fxck the police and they're harassing tactics.

67242 Yeah, but just so some punk can get off and bait cops, some guy lost his job. You don't get some entitled brat going off in your face, the officer probably wanted it to be over more than the kid.

73169 Not against the police per se: However am against police thinking that they are above the law and can do whatever they want without repercussion. Unfortunately these types of officers should find different careers and we the people need to stand up and let them know it wont be tolerated.
