Part two of Jan Helfeld's Interview with Philip DeFranco, host of the Philip DeFranco Show. Jan explains to him how (redistributive) taxes are theft, and he says he's against "legalized theft" in the form of farm subsidies, etc. Philip responds, "that's interesting ... that's very interesting," and he nods his head in agreement. Unfortunately, halfway through the interview Phil for some reason starts taking Jan's questioning as somehow patronizing, I guess because he felt he didn't understand the train of thought, or he just didn't want to acknowledge the implications of it, it triggered a cognitive dissonance which I guess stirred up some bad feelings. The interview ends almost on a sad note, but make no mistake, he acknowledged taxes were theft, he understood it intellectually, and once exposed to the unvarnished truth it has a way of snowballing. |
