This video hit the front page of reddit earlier, I find it funny because it's a great example of what police actually spend their time on rather than what people perceive police spend their time on. If you watch the stupid shows on TV, you probably have the impression police are busy investigating murders, fighting drug king pins, engaging in high speed chases, or dealing with actual criminals who commit actual crimes. In fact, they spend most of their time harassing college students because they're easy arrest targets so the police can meet their quotas. In a recent interview, a police officer from the New Orleans police who left the force in disgust explained how the police generally hate doing actual police work, instead they just go to the local colleges, arrest people essentially at random, then get them on petty drug charges or underage drinking, all to make their arrest quotas. This video is an example of just that, the girl in this video was being charged with the imaginary crime of "underage" drinking. She drank a government approved drug at an age some bureaucrats arbitrarily decided was too young, therefore the armed goon thinks he has his every right to violently kidnap her while demanding she "stop resisting." Did "God" give him this right? No, some scribbles on a piece of paper by some loser politicians did. The fact of the matter is, police are criminals in uniform and they're not here to protect anyone, they're here to extract revenue from taxpaying citizens and keep in line anyone who would dare to disobey the state. They're not here to protect and serve the public but to protect and serve themselves at taxpayer's expense, an expense mind you which keeps going up with every new arbitrary "rule" and "regulation" passed by the army of idiots we call "our" government. |
