Keep Out: NASA Asks Future Moon Visitors to Respect Its Stuff

By Adam Mann

First off, the US has no ownership over that unclaimed land, second I say tare it the hell up, let's see what they find. - ChrisThe moon is about to become crowded.

In the next few years a slew of countries, including China, India, and Japan, are looking to put unmanned probes on the lunar surface. But more unprecedented are the 26 teams currently racing to win the Google Lunar X Prize -- a contest that will award $20 million to the first private company to land a robot on the lunar surface, travel a third of a mile, and send back a high-definition image before 2015.

With all this activity, NASA is somewhat nervous about its own lunar history. The agency recently released a set of guidelines that aim to preserve important heritage locations such as the Apollo landing and Ranger impact sites. The report, available since 2011 to members of the private spaceflight community, was publicly posted at NASA's website and officially accepted by the X Prize foundation on May 24.

"NASA has recognized that these sites are important to mankind and have to be protected to make sure there's no undue damage done to them," said John Thornton, president of Astrobotic Technology Inc., a company competing for the prize.

Though NASA has no way of enforcing the requirements, they are designed to protect materials and scientific equipment at historical lunar sites as well as future landing sites. The guidelines have been made available internationally, and the agency welcomes other nations to participate in and improve upon them, said NASA spokesperson Joshua Buck in an e-mail.

NASA is asking anyone that makes it to the lunar surface to keep their landing at least 1.2 miles away from any Apollo site and about 1,600 feet from the five Ranger impact sites. The distance should keep the old equipment safe from a terrible accident or collision. It will also would put the new equipment "over the lunar horizon" relative to the relics, and prevent any moon dust -- known to be a highly abrasive material -- from sandblasting NASA's old machines.

108205 Hilarious!! No moon dust ever settled on the craft that landed on the moon - er uh I mean that was faked. There's nothing up there. They just don't want anyone to discover that.

Tell me, are you locked in the punch
Hey, Andy are you goofing on Elvis? Hey, baby.
Are you having fun
If you believed they put a man on the moon, man on the moon
If you believe there's nothing up his sleeve, then nothing is cool

7045 This is the first native reservation. If moon natives are found, they will be put in here.

7091 "NASA has recognized that these sites are important to mankind and have to be protected to make sure there's no undue damage done to them"

...yet the same bozos turn around and lose all the original video footage, the audio tapes (all 700 boxes or so), and the technical documents of the lunar lander, etc. (To this they've admitted, even hired someone at Goddard SFC for the specific task of finding all the original tapes -- they fired her, of course, when she was unable to produce them.)

There seems to be no truth available from gov. See Richard Hoagland for more info. He may be a shill or useful idiot, but he does provide counterpoint to NASA's stonewall bozosity.

DO NOT MISS BRUCE GAGNON's ARSENAL OF HYPOCRISY on youtube, nor FreemanTV's mind-blowing BARACKHENATEN presentation.

Where are all the moon rocks? The Danish one was recently confirmed a fraud (it's really from Antarctica). Are all the others missing? Think so. Read that von Braun went to Antarctica some months before the supposed missions.

Many of the pictures have impossible lighting, dual light sources (confirmed by differing shadows), and impossible graticule markings.

Then there's the unbelievableness of all 3 major networks being forced to aim their cameras at television monitors in order to get any footage of the mission -- NASA supposedly put men on the moon yet was totally unable to provide a clear, solid, and direct video feed. ComeTFOn.

No craters at landing or takeoff.

In fact, no evidence of any kind. Not even moon rocks, which have either vanished or been proven fraud rocks from Antarctica.

Plus the weird reports of coke bottles on set and all kinds of nuttiness, including fact that press was barred from interviewing the "returned" astronauts.

Not saying we never went to the moon, but we sure as hell didn't go as was presented! There's a ton more.

It shows, among many other things, a 1-to-1 direct correlation between moon drama and Vietnam War disaster -- indicating moon drama was invented to distract from expensive disaster.

In addition, every other manned "space" thing we've ever done has been only a few hundred miles up -- the "space station" orbits at 110 miles up. Nothing manned has reportedly gone beyond 150 miles...except the incredible (and logic deems fraudulent) "moon landings", which catapulted men harmlessly 250,000 miles around the dark side. ComeTFOn.

Why are none of the other comments filled with any useful sources or leads or info??!
