No treatment for smokers or the obese: Doctors back measures to deny procedures for those with unhealthier lifestyles

More than half of doctors across the UK have backed controversial measures to withhold treatment to smokers and the obese.

According to a new survey around 54 per cent of those who took part said the NHS should have the right to deny non-emergency treatments to those who fail to lose weight or kick their smoking habits.

Members of the networking website doctors.net.uk were asked 'Should the NHS be allowed to refuse non-emergency treatments to patients unless they lose weight or stop smoking?'

And although the poll was optional 593 of the 1,096 doctors who participated answered yes.

The UK is not a 'socialist' society, neither is America .
Seriously, it makes you look like some stupid Alex Jones-type when you repeat that nonsense . Just because something is stupid or you don't like it doesn't mean it is socialist .

Besides, the reason this is even a problem is that the sheeple of Europe
react against the bankster-robbery of our societies (oh dear, he said 'so-', that must be 'socialism' ) by voting for the exact same politicians that made it possible - The 'Libertarians' .

Maggie was a socialist, socialism is any government interference with the economy, I would include America as socialist and even the constitution as socialism. I don't agree with the "small government" socialists you must be thinking of.

21681 The idea of people judgementally denying their neighbors medical care based on conditions/issues they may or may not be easily able to control sounds much less like "socialism"...and much more like the disattached idiocracy running rampant in the US.

Honestly...sometimes you do seem to stretch.

These terms...Conservative, Libertarian, Liberal, Socialist...have been so bastardized over the generations that they have all but lost their original meanings.

What your story describes sounds more like classism than socialism.
