Filmmaker Releases Video Breakdown Of Illegal Traffic Stop By Cop Who Harassed Him

Chris | InformationLiberation

An award winning filmmaker and self-desribed StarTrek fan got dash-cam video of an illegal traffic stop carried out against him by a criminal police officer who was intent on harassing him. He produced this 17 minute video to document the incident.

Note, you should absolutely never talk to police, everything you say can and will be used against you. Check out this thread on Reddit for more, and be sure to see the video the poster mentions in this post below:
Actually as soon as the cop "resolved" the reason he pulled him over initially, he is free to leave. This is a common tactic police use on fishing expeditions.

The idea is they're manipulating you the same way a scam artist so you will still be hesitant to say no, and they ask for permission after you are free to leave so in court you can't claim were coerced/intimidated into giving permission.

Video Description from Youtube:

On December 4th 2011, StarTrek fans Terrance Huff and Jon Seaton are stopped illegally after a StarTrek Exhibition for suspected drug transportation in Collinsville, Illinois. Award winning filmmaker Terrance Huff does a breakdown of an illegal traffic stop and subsequent search involving a K9 Officer who has has a criminal past.

The dog search begins 9:50 and is followed by evidentiary video.

678 its awesome how cops claim they are there to protect you but who will protect you from them if you film them doing their "jobs"?

what is there to fear if there is nothing to hide? Good questions for the pigs in blue.

I dont even move over for cops anymore lol

67170 Wow! Great job of exposing Michael Reichert for the scum he is. I suppose it won't be long before the boys in blue take action to remove the cameras on their vehicles. That would open up an after market for cameras installed on mundane vehicles. Looks like the war lovers have brought war to this land. All those military guys trained in war come back home trained to do what? the obvious choice for them is to become cops. Their loyalty is to themselves and not to the public.

17350 Everyone needs to educate themselves on civil liberties. Don't help some police officer who is trying to find something to arrest or ticket you for.

Look, Ron Paul talks about civil liberties, either you can enjoy them and protect them or you can give me up, if you choose to give them up, don't complain about corruption then.

That is all.

7689 I didn't see anywhere in the constitution for the government to make anything illegal. It also doesn't say a dogs nose trumps your rights.

Posted: Mar 18 2012, 7:55 AM

7619 I find it interesting that at no time did you deny using drugs or being a drug user. Try and remember your hatred of the police the next time you or a loved one are about to call 911

Posted: Mar 18 2012, 7:45 PM

63240 7619 At no point and time does he have to deny anything, why should he the idiot cop is going to search the vehicle anyway no matter what. This is just another example of law inforcement being the most corrupt gang there is. If they took all of these stories of excessive force and violating civil rights and cops dealing drugs or molesting children and ect, They could make the longest runnung GANGLAND ever. No body would do this though because of the consiquences that would befall them from law enforcement. I wish someone would though.

69127 The cops screwed up 100%

Yes they can use a drug sniffing dog, but he needed to do it before the traffic stop was over.
It was over when he handed you the ticket.
After that it was unconstitutional to detain you further.

Illinois v. Caballes
"However, a seizure that is justified at its inception may become unreasonable if it is unreasonably prolonged in duration. Thus, if the sole reason for the stop is to issue a warning to the motorist, the stop becomes unreasonable if it is prolonged beyond the time reasonably necessary to issue the warning. And if a drug-sniffing dog is used during this unreasonable extension, the use of the dog violates the Fourth Amendment."

75150 Gotta love Barry Neal Cooper. His video helps you define the unlawful actions of this bully. Keep vigilant against those who pretend to protect you for the purpose of generating cash revenue.

9877 Who said this stop was illegal? And what award has Terrence Huff won?

There is NOTHING wrong with the stop - this video is gratuitous at best and the "filmmaker" is getting you to do exactly what he wants - publicize his name. Stop being a tool.

There are way too many jailhouse lawyers here, and listening to these people will most certainly not end well for you of you abide by their "Opinions" and Case Law "EXCERPTS".

Posted: Mar 20 2012, 3:25 PM

9877 When asked if he had any drugs in the car and he states "None that I know of". WOW!

Posted: Mar 20 2012, 7:54 PM

69127 HwyFuzz,

Hey dick I did not say the STOP was illegal and neither did the Supreme Court!

What they said was that it became a violation of the 4th amendment when the cop detained him longer than was reasonable. When the ticket and credentials were returned the reason for the stop was over as a matter of law.

The other cop was there, the dog was there almost the whole time. If the dog searched or the cop asked to search the vehicle before the stop was over then it would have been fine and no violation of his constitutional rights.

That cop was a dick as you seem to be too :)

166128 "Try and remember your hatred of the police the next time you or a loved one are about to call 911 "

We don't call 911.......

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

9638 Well, I think we need to go to that city and pull over Michael Reichert everytime he leaves his house. Pat him down and if he has family pat them down also and accuse them of being asshole drug dealers. And if he resist, tase him! There are good cops out there, but ones like Michael Reichert need to be fired and imprisoned so they can be gang raped! Hope you become a speed bump for an 18 wheeler soon!

50131 Too Bad this bad apple makes police look bad. The vast majority are good public servants

Posted: Apr 13 2012, 4:26 PM

17430 I would like to add my 2 cents. After being stopped 8 times on two trips to Texas I developed a dislike of the Hwy patrol. Not because they stole my sugar for my coffee during my voluntary car search, but because they lied as to the reason to effect the stop. It was mostly in the El Paso region one time I was going 83 in an 80 mph but he couldn't show me the radar cuz I knew I was going the speed limit , another stop I was told I looked confused as the cop sat in the median and I traveled by at 80 mph ( this was the dog sniffing non voluntary search, which produced nothing cuz there was nothing and never was ) Another was when I was clocked going 85 when in fact I had set my cruise control at 78 ( under the 80 mph limit ) Granted all these stops were only warnings but All these lies and more......I'm sorry Officers your making a bad name for yourselves and why ? So you feel its ok to break the law to uphold the law or violate someones rights to to protect his rights. You were supposed to be the good guys ...stop acting like the bad guys

6669 This policemans actions were encouraged by his PD. He was hired with a criminal past. A PD's will do a background check. His job was strictly to lie and bend the rules. This PD hired him to do so, its blatantly obvious.

69199 this is why I laugh every time a police officer gets shot in the line of duty. 99% of them are scum bags who deserve to get shot

Posted: Dec 07 2012, 6:25 PM

144191 I have two tail lights and a third light in my rear window just behind the head rest of the center of the back seat. That back seat light was out. I found out later that the back seat light does not give a cop a reason to pull you over. I cooperated with the cop like I always do, because I know I wasn't doing antything wrong. Unless you really are doing something wrong, just cooperate and save yourself the hassle. Whining about how they are infringing on your civil rights will usually drag the process out much longer. Besides if you really cared you'd be picketing Congress about the NDAA 2012 and 2013 bills and indefinite detention. You'd be yelling how 9/11 was an inside job and the Patriot act installed this police state.

10976 he is one sick person should not be in that job but of course he is employed by the same type

Posted: Dec 07 2012, 8:38 PM

67142 there are lots of shit cops. they're like everyone else. good ones and bad ones. they aren't automatically heroic because they choose to be cops.
as far as 911 goes, i've called it twice and it took a good 45 minutes for them to get there once, and the other time they never showed up. i'd rather handle my own protection from now own.
