Obama: Indefinitely Detaining Americans Is Wrong... But Executing Americans Without Trial is A-OK

If you haven't heard, Obama's New Year's gift to America was signing the NDAA indefinite detention bill into law. He tried to quell outrage by saying he was only signing it with "serious reservations."

“I have signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists,” ... “My administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens. Indeed, I believe that doing so would break with our most important traditions and values as a nation.”

Reading his signing statement, I can't help but laugh at him saying he won't use these powers against American citizens, he just murdered American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki and his 16-yr-old American son two months ago.

Abdulrahman Anwar Alawlaki was a U.S. citizen born in Denver, he was a 16-year-old boy who was guilty of nothing and he was extra-judicially assassinated by Barack Obama without any "serious reservations."

The only reason I can see Obama would refrain from using these powers is if he plans on executing Americans instead of indefinitely detaining them.

I wondered about this too, especially with all the drones being incorporated into law enforcement departments nationwide.
