Police Whistleblowers Face Retaliation

NAMPA — Three Nampa police officers filed a whistleblower lawsuit in federal court Thursday claiming they face retaliation for complaints about inappropriate police department actions alleged in the lawsuit.

The officers and plaintiffs, Lt. Joseph Huff, investigator Leonard Claunts and Sgt. Curtis Shankel, claim in the lawsuit against the city, police department, Mayor Tom Dale and others that they were harassed, given less desirable assignments and threatened with lawsuits after bringing up issues of alleged misconduct within the police department.
