Cop murders dog named Parrot

The dog in this picture is named Parrot, this was taken moments before Parrot was murdered by the cop. The cop drove his knee into the middle of Parrot's back while stretching Parrot's forelegs behind him, as one would do with an armed criminal. Without waiting to determine whether this technique would calm Parrot, the cop grabbed Parrot, lifted him off the ground, and brought him to the top of the concrete staircase. He threw Parrot over the banister, down twelve steps, and onto the concrete floor. Then, the cop stood at the top of the stairs, drew his weapon, and executed Parrot. Aaron, the animal's owner, cannot recall the number of shots fired.

8913 Ken, I found a news story about this:

There it says that the dog was scheduled to be put down, but not for it's "violent history". In fact the article makes it seem like it was a shelter animal that got adopted at the last minute. It also seems like there is some conflict over which dog bit first. Also witnesses say that the dog was under control before the officer showed up.

I used to live in Adams Morgan where this happened, and I remember the cops there. Things may have changed in the last ten years but the force was under trained and full of what other cops call "meat eaters" (corrupt cops). In the context of my experience it is entirely believable that this shooting was exactly as over the top and irrational as it appears to be on it's face.

115242 The muthafucka will burn in hell for what he's done to this poor, harmless animal. A man with a gun should have the responsibility and level-headedness to be able to handle that gun. This guy appears to be an impulsive quack. Somebody should hurtle him down the stairs and put six bullets through his brain!

98204 who is that cop?? i think someone should treat that pig like her treated the dog. fucking worthless individual

173175 This "asshole" as he is being labeled, is a dog lover and a member of the K-9 unit. He is the last person who would want to shoot an animal. Before this photo was taken, "Parrot" mauled a poodle, as well as bit both the foster owner and the officer. After this photo was taken, the dog got loose, which is why Officer Fike threw the dog down the stairs, to try to subdue the dog without lethal force. When the dog began to charge at Officer Fike and the people standing next to him, he was left no choice but to fire his weapon. Parrot's owner Aaron should be charged with reckless endangerment. The part that gets me is the he "cannot recall how many shots were fired". One. One shot was fired.

67180 Parrot's owner Aaron should be charged with reckless endangerment
^^ jesus christ you're fucking retarded.. the cop pushed the owner away from the dog to mount it, and the poodle attacked first, the officer wasn't bitten - scratched - "no choice left but to fire his weapon," you fucking moron there's always a choice especially when the dog is down twelve fucking stairs, how much shit are you going to make up?? and you try to act like you were there: "After this photo was taken, the dog got loose," just shut the fuck up... and the same goes for Ken fuckhead... Just look at that picture... cop looks like such a fucking douchebag

66108 it starts with peoples pets and escalates into police beating on innocent is what we see everyday because no one cares when its an animal. start caring now and we can get people like this off the street.

71195 I guess the dog got into a bit of a scuffle with a poodle and the owner was getting the dog to calm down, when the cop knocked him over and worked the dog over. I can't believe this crap. Cops, dogs, whatever side you're on, this guy needs be taken out back, plain and simple. I hope he gets the hell he deserves.

24216 that cop should be fired, what a fuck head come do that too my dog and see up then

Posted: Oct 31 2011, 10:08 AM

11477 this is disgusting police have no right to take an innocent dogs life like that. dirty heartless prick

Posted: Oct 31 2011, 11:52 AM

86175 I agree that there must have been circumstances leading up to this, terrible incident, I am assuming that the dog was taught to be violent by his owner? In which case the owner should have been prosecuted for the life of Parrot. I do not condone the cops actions but if it is true that poor parrot had almost destroyed a poodle moments before then maybe a swift bullet would have need to throw an already tormented animal down stairs!

6483 Everyone should know, there are good cops (the kind who stop to help you change a tire) and there are bad cops (the kind who think only of their quota, their badge, and their gun). It is sick that one officer's testimony is essentially equal to three honest men's testimony. Cops are JUST as capable of lieing, and the public is JUST as capable of telling the truth. I know there are good cops out there, I've met a few. But in my experience, there are more corrupt ones than good ones. Maybe not to the point of killing a dog unjustly, but they're not what they're hired to be. If you are a cop, remember, you work for the people. WE pay your salary, WE put food on your table, and YOU work for US. Think back to why you became a cop in the first place. Think of the motto to protect and serve. Now DO IT.

7620 Ken, why not get your facts straight? Mauled a poodle so badly blood was covering the street? That isn't held up by the official report nor do witnesses support the actions of the officer. You want to speak about the ignorant masses yet spout off nonsense that must be based on your feelings towards either law enforcement or dogs. I'm not anti-cop in any way, in fact I'm very pro-law enforcement, but in all cases a person must be responsible for their actions and respect is earned not given. This officer proved that he is not fit to wear the badge because quite frankly a person can be judged by how they treat those things they have power over and he showed a cruel streak that should not be present in law enforcement officials.

6661 I dont see any blood on that dog at all. Maybe they bathed him after he mauled the poodle and before they shot him.

68144 Most intolerable action a human being could of taken. this kills me to the core, how someone can be so disgustingly sick. He should be absolutely, without a single doubt, be punished for his sins. Justice for this poor innocent angel needs to be put out. No animal, no matter of their past, deserves what this poor dog endured. He cannot speak or act or himself. that police officer has done damage that can never be forgiven. go to hell.

"Officer Fike only had a split second to react, and I for one applaud his heroic decision making"

Fike had a split second to tackle, decide to carry the defenseless animal to the top of a flight of stairs, throw him off, and then shoot him? Sounds like a lot of repented anger. The dog was his release.

"in order to prevent this psycho dog from hurting any other human beings."

You said he mauled a poodle, not a human being.

"So before all of you shit for brains, anti-everything, asswipes decide to vilify Officer Fike, know your facts first you stupid shit fucks."

Excuse me, who are you calling a "shit for brains, shit fuck?" Maybe you should get your own facts straight.

"Oh and a side note, the Humane Society kills millions of dogs per year, many of which are pit bulls. Who's the enemy now? "

This article had absolutely nothing to do with the Humane Society.
Even if that statement had any relevance whatsoever, the Humane Society, as the name implies, humanely euthanize their animals. They do not, like Officer Fike, use force and bullets.
