Psipsina!

Oh Psipsina! I'm going to miss you so much! I'll never forget when I was just a boy and I was crying when my grandfather died, you came and comforted me and it made me feel so good! I could only do the same for you in your last days! I love you so much Psipsina, you taught me so much about life, I love you and I'll never forget you!

- Love Chris

My deepest condolences, Chris. Our furry friends are companions par excellence. And it always makes me happy to see them as content as Psipsina is in those pictures.

Few people know as much about life as cats do, and they always teach by example. i'm sure she (?) is now happy at Ulthar...

And what a beautiful cat Psipsina was! (But, to be honest, i've never met a cat who wasn't.)

I'm sure I'm not alone here by saying I know how you feel, it cuts you very deeply, but think of the good times and the bad times and be thankful you had someone like Psipsina to share them all with.

My heart goes out to you

97126 6 years ago we had to put our Rottweiler to sleep. I'd had him since I was 3 and my dad raised and trained him by hand from a puppy. I remember as we were leaving the vet's office he tried to get off the table to follow us back out to the car. Like "oh time to go back?" He had jaw cancer. Nothing to be done to reverse it at the point it was caught. I feel your pain Chris.

Thanks everyone, we just buried her in our backyard covered in a huge bed of flowers! My mom decided we should all write letters to her, we did and then we read them and laid them on her body, it was very emotional, then we decided to cover her body with not just a few flowers but a ton of flowers from around our house! My brother chose at the end to rearrange the flowers in the shape of a ying-yang with white and pink flowers ;) Then we covered it with dirt and started a whole other bouquet on top, I started to make a big circle with white flowers, then my brother put rows of pink inside. When we were 70% through it turned out it was making a perfect heart shape! So we made it a giant heart with white and pink flowers beautifully designed ;) It was really nice and it worked out perfectly, her body fit perfectly in the hole we dug and it was really powerful the way things went so perfectly. She lived a really good life and we loved her with all our hearts! Just this last year she started scratching on our door to be let in to our room, she would even wake me up she was so persistent ;) Well my brother made the joke, 'maybe now she is scratching on the doors to heaven!' Even if they didn't want to let her in they would eventually have to give in! :D

12198 Hey Chris and Family,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your little mate.
I know how good they are at being there for us in the hard times.
My little trash can stray cat "Skitty helped me though my hardest time in my life.
I helped her get her skinny bones back to life and she helped me through my
deep dark hole.

I feel for you all.

PS keep up the great work.....!!!

98247 Our 14 year-old cat Frank died when we were out of the country. My kids and I were devastated to not be able to be there for him at the time. I'm glad you were there with him in the end.

Sorry for your loss and thanks for your web site and kind commentary.

Peace.

203217 All the best, Mate.
Sorry to hear about the death of your cat.
We have two and I think I would be heart broken and very reclusive if they left the planet.
Feel a long comforting hug.

Thank you for sharing your grief and making us aware of your need to be cuddled a little bit more.

the sad version of feel so good is going to be extra sad now. the heart shaped flower arrangement sounds like a cool phenomenon. unconscious expression of love at the very least.

all around sad stuff this week. the synchronicities are off the chain

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it, I will try to start updating the site again tomorrow! We actually went to a pet store today just to see the cats up for adoption (just for fun), they were all very nice and sweet but a bit impersonal!

98234 Sorry to hear of a loss I know well. Spent a week like that a couple of years ago, and was counseled to put my guy (Reggie) down twice, but I couldn't and didn't want to do it, and took him home instead (one of the greatest moments of relief I've ever experienced too). I thought he would die that night or the next morn but then he rallied for most of another week, and we had a couple of those days in the sun, and, like you I followed him around the yard lest he should fall or not want to make the round trip. He finally died at home while I held him, and I'm really glad I took him home for another precious week. Really a profound thing and time, and there's something about animals that's really sublime, but you can't explain it to those who don't get it. I do though, and your farewell message to him choked me right up. They are the best of mates. The next one you save from the shelter will be a lucky cat, Thanks for your site, best to you, and bon voyage to your Sipsy.

Thanks so much everyone, we're still reeling over the loss! Thanks for sharing your story Jim, we did the same in that we decided against euthanasia and had a similar experience, I think we definitely made the right decision (though it was extremely difficult). Animals purity of spirit is what never ceases to move me, they're so free if you just watch them carefully you can learn so much about the essence of life! Also to those who's cats are still with them, like I said to someone who emailed me, please give them some extra petting for me! :D
