'Terrorist' Cop Allowed To Run Wild & Assault Citizens With Impunity: Report
posted 09/30/2011, 3:25 AM (InformationLiberation) [Category: Tyranny/Police State] A police officer citizens are describing as a "thug and a terrorist" is reportedly being allowed to run wild violently assaulting dozens of citizens while facing zero scrutiny nor punishment. The police chief is even defending the officer's violent beating of a man in a diabetic coma, saying it was "within departmental policy and procedure." The officer is reportedly so violent a fellow officer resigned in disgust, "sighting Hobbs' out-of-control behavior and racist remarks as the reason why."

Divided, We Stand
posted 09/30/2011, 3:20 AM (Wendy McElroy) [Category: Commentary] One of the most destructive ideas in American history may be collapsing under its own unsupportable weight. Andrew Jackson stated the idea succinctly: "The people are the government …" In the Gettysburg Address, Abraham Lincoln expanded, "government of the people, by the people, for the people."
Of the people means government consists of members drawn from the people, not from an elite or an invader. By the people means they are the ones in authority. For the peop... (more)
This is a video I edited down from an original. This shows a protestor getting punched in the face then tackled down. He is arrested then walked to a police van where he is searched (I presume illegally but we cant assume things) then left to wait in the police van. The original videographer got the badge numbers of the arresting officers but not the officer who punche... (more)
The FBI again thwarts its own Terror plot
posted 09/30/2011, 3:17 AM (Glenn Greenwald) [Category: Cover-Up/Deceptions] The FBI has received substantial criticism over the past decade -- much of it valid -- but nobody can deny its record of excellence in thwarting its own Terrorist plots. Time and again, the FBI concocts a Terrorist attack, infiltrates Muslim communities in order to find recruits, persuades them to perpetrate the attack, supplies them with the money, weapons and know-how they need to carry it out -- only to heroically jump in at the last moment, arrest the would-be perpetrators whom the FBI conv... posted 09/30/2011, 3:17 AM (The Australian) [Category: Economy] EMERGING market countries are continuing to top up their gold reserves, with Russia, Thailand and Bolivia among those to add to their holdings in August as developing economies continue to diversify away from traditional reserve currencies.
Recently, emerging market central banks have bought gold in reaction to the sovereign debt crises affecting the US dollar and the euro, analysts say. Demand has also risen strongly in recent quarters as some seek to diversify foreign exchange ... (more)

Rare Earths Fall as Toyota Develops Alternatives
posted 09/30/2011, 3:17 AM (Bloomberg) [Category: Economy] Rare-earth prices are set to extend their decline from records this year as buyers including Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) and General Electric Co. (GE) scale back using the materials in their cars and windmills.
Prices for cerium and lanthanum, the most abundant rare- earth elements, will drop by 50 percent in 12 months, Christopher Ecclestone, an analyst at Hallgarten & Co. in New York, has forecast. Neodymium and praseodymium, metals used in permanent rare-earth magnets, may fall a... (more)
This is a perfect example of how the market rations scarce resources. You don't have to give some socialist dictator total power like the fake-green cult says, you just let the market function and people solve problems on their own. - Chris
4 Americans get pot from US government
posted 09/30/2011, 3:15 AM (Associated Press) [Category: General] EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Sometime after midnight on a moonlit rural Oregon highway, a state trooper checking a car he had just pulled over found less than an ounce of pot on one passenger: A chatty 72-year-old woman blind in one eye.
She insisted the weed was legal and was approved by the U.S. government.
The trooper and his supervisor were doubtful. But after a series of calls to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Drug Enforcement Agency and her physician, the troopers han... (more)
The complaint was filed today in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and mirrors a 2010 action that sought official forfeiture of wood obtained in a 2009 raid of Gibson facilities. The latter of tho... (more)

Sep 29, 2011 | We pressed Rick Perry on the issue of him violating Federal Law and attending the Bilderberg meeting in Instanbul, Turkey in 2007. Slick Rick dodged this question and preferred to take softball questions from the mainstream media reporters.

Starting from this Saturday, Danes will pay an extra 30p on each pack of butter, 8p on a pack of crisps, and an extra 13p on a pound of mince, as a result of the tax.
The tax is expected to raise about 2.2bn Danish Krone (£140m), and cut consumption of saturated fat by close to 10pc, and butter consumption by 15pc.
This is pure evil. Fats are good for you, just read the works of Weston A. Price. Bureaucrats said margarine was good for us, yet it's filled with trans-fats which they're now banning all over the place. These people are idiots and they have no business telling people what to eat. - Chris
Based on the past 10 years, we can expect more wars that have little to do with Sept. 11, but will sacrifice the lives of far more Americans than the 3,000 who died that day, as well as the lives of many, many more foreign civilians. Our government will continue to ... (more)
