Give Homeless Man A Dollar, Get Ticketed For Littering & Dragged Into Court
posted 05/31/2012, 1:16 PM (InformationLiberation) [Category: Tyranny/Police State] This is what passes for "police protection."
Via The Daily Caller:
Fox 8 in Cleveland is reporting that a man who stopped to give a homeless man a dollar bill was ticketed for littering and has appeared in court.
A police officer issued a $344 ticket to Cleveland resident John Davis for littering after he dropped dollar bills to a disabled person on a sidewalk. The court costs could bring the total fine up to as much as $500, in addition to attorney fees and missed work time.
Davis is attempting to fight the ticket because he believes that his helpful intent was clear. Davis "never thought that a couple dollars could turn into a couple hundred dollars."
After getting bad press, the Chief City Prosecutor has since decided to drop the charges.
Unfortunately, the victim in this case will not be reimbursed for any lost work/damages, and the cop is still free to continue running his shakedown operations.

Were Nazi Soldiers Heroes?
posted 05/31/2012, 1:16 PM (Jacob G. Hornberger) [Category: Commentary] Have you ever noticed that Nazi soldiers, especially those who died in World War II, are never celebrated as heroes? Why is that? Didn’t they answer the call of their government in time of war? Didn’t they serve their country by loyally obeying the dictates of their government? Weren’t they patriots for their willingness to fight and die for their country?
I’m not talking about soldiers who committed war crimes or who participated in the Holocaust. I’m talking about ordinary Ger... (more) |

Rookie cop 'harassed and berated' after arresting off-duty officer
posted 05/31/2012, 1:14 PM (Metro) [Category: Tyranny/Police State] It’s an impaired driving case like thousands of others except it involves a rookie Toronto police officer who crossed the thin blue line and paid the price.
Const. Andrew Vanderburgh was “harassed and berated” by fellow officers because on Nov. 28, 2009, he arrested and charged an off-duty police constable with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level over 80 milligrams, according to an internal police disciplinary ruling. |
Washington Times Covers Bilderberg
posted 05/31/2012, 1:12 PM (Washington Times) [Category: Geopolitics] Chantilly's Westfields Marriott hotel is the site of an “unprecedented” security crackdown as the world’s richest and most powerful arrive for the annual Bilderberg conference.
Hundreds of demonstrators are expected to protest the highly secretive gathering, which kicks off Thursday and lasts through the weekend. The off-the-record meeting, well known in conspiracy lore but typically given little to no media attention each year, once again will bring together heads of state, billi... (more) |
Megaupload Demands Return of Millions of Dollars From U.S. Govt.
posted 05/31/2012, 1:12 PM (TorrentFreak) [Category: Big Brother/Orwellian] Megaupload is challenging the U.S. Government’s possession of millions of dollars in assets it seized from the company and its operators in January. The newly-filed and eye-opening motion slams the U.S. for holding the defendants liable for alleged offenses that aren’t even a crime, ignoring laws designed to offer them protection, failing to provide any detail whatsoever on alleged infringements, and pushing U.S. law far beyond its borders. |
