Obomney 2012: Video Shows There Is Not a Dime's Worth of Difference Between Romney & Obama posted 04/30/2012, 10:25 AM (InformationLiberation)
[Category: Politics/Corruption]

The great thing about Youtube is you can compile all the BS politicians say and expose them straightforwardly for the two face lying shills they are. This wonderful video shows both scumbags running for the White House agree on pretty much every major policy and there's not a dime's worth of difference between the two of them. Quite frankly, a vote for either is an admission you're an idiot.

"To be governed is to be watched over, inspected, spied on, directed, legislated at, regulated, docketed, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, assessed, weighed, censored, ordered about, by men who have neither the right, nor the knowledge, nor the virtue. ... To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction, noted, registered, enrolled, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under the pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, trained, ransomed, exploited, monopolized, extorted, squeezed, mystified, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, despised, harassed, tracked, abused, clubbed, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and, to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, outraged, dishonoured. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality." - Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

Obama's recent claim that he can't do anything about the illegality of medical marijuana has drawn plenty of criticism, but this ought to take the cake.
Attorney General Eric Holder was a guest of The Huffington Post at the correspondents' dinner. Before it began, a HuffPost reporter noted to Holder that Obama's reference to "congressional law" was misleading because the executive br... (more)

Stopping Business in the Big Apple posted 04/30/2012, 10:23 AM (Douglas French)
[Category: Economy]
Today's New York Times is a treasure trove of stories of government standing in the way of commerce.  Anyone visiting the Big Apple knows hotel lodging costs an arm and a leg.  Some enterprising property owners in the city and outer boroughs have stepped in to fill consumer demand and make some money in the process.  And with the aid of internet search engines and websites devoted to helping travelers find cheap rooms, demand has been brisk.

Turns out this sort of private contract

Let me be the first to say, congratulations, Mr. Stein! One of the best things that could ever happen to you was made official Wednesday. After you violated the Pentagon’s rules banning free speech (itself a violation of the 1st Amendment protections to the same) the Marine Corps unceremoniously discharged you.

Over the course of the last decade or so, “western democracies” have put Stalin’s Russia, Saddam’s Iraq, even Orwell’s fictional Oceania to shame when it comes to constant monitoring of people’s daily lives.

These days you can’t swing a cat without hitting a surveillance camera (unless it’s in the nose of one of those new-fangled drone aircraft that only a flying cat could reach), swipe your debit card or use your cell phone without at least having your location recorded in a data

OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Ogden Police Department is facing some heat Wednesday night. They've hired a former UHP sergeant, just four months after he was fired for repeatedly punching a 59-year-old woman in the face.

What some people may find interesting is that Ogden Police believe Sgt. Andrew Davenport was one of the most eligible officers they could’ve hired. But others see it differently.
