This video hit the front page of reddit earlier, I find it funny because it's a great example of what police actually spend their time on rather than what people perceive police spend their time on.
If you watch the stupid shows on TV, you probably have the impression police are busy investigating murders, fighting drug king pins, engaging in high speed chases, or dealing with actual criminals who commit actual crimes. In fact, they spend most of their time harassing college students because they're easy arrest targets so the police can meet their quotas.
In a recent interview, a police officer from the New Orleans police who left the force in disgust explained how the police generally hate doing actual police work, instead they just go to the local colleges, arrest people essentially at random, then get them on petty drug charges or underage drinking, all to make their arrest quotas.
This video is an example of just that, the girl in this video was being charged with the imaginary crime of "underage" drinking.
