The Messiah is here,
he'll sate all our needs,
all that's required,
is we do what he please,
Change is coming,
but we all must believe,
get behind the leader,
serve your country they plead,
But what of those of us who do not believe,
what of those of us who won't do as they please,
how will we be treated,
if we don't fall to our knees?
The world has been conned,
the world doesn't see,
the only change which is coming,
is we will no longer be free.

At the risk of raining on the parade, I suggest that the inaugural festivities are not what they appear. Barack Obama says the pomp and circumstance are not about him but are a celebration of democracy. “For the forty-third time, we will execute the peaceful transfer of power from one president to the next,” he said.

 A Palestinian father has claimed that he saw two of his young daughters shot dead and another critically injured by an Israeli soldier who emerged from a stationary tank and opened fire as the family obeyed an order from the Israeli forces to leave their home.

 Molly Morgan: Mrs Morgan, who had lived in the local area for more than 50 years, was on her way to Kenton Library in Harrow for a lecture when she was attacked. Photo: AP
