Secretary of State Mike Pompeo brushed off Rudy Giuliani‘s recent remarks in Israel, claiming he has no role as a spokesperson for the Donald Trump administration when it comes to North Korea.
“I know Rudy,” Pompeo said during a Thursday press briefing, speaking about the Trump’s personal attorney. “Rudy doesn’t speak for the administration when it comes to this negotiation and this set of issues.”
Pompeo’s comments were given in response to a question on Giuliani’s discussion of the upcoming meeting between the U.S. and North Korea in Singapore, when the attorney said dictator Kim Jong Un had been "begging [Trump] on hands and knees" to put the long-awaited summit back on the books after the president pulled out.
