Las Vegas Shooter ID'ed As 64-Year-Old Stephen Paddock

According to NBC News, the Las Vegas shooter has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock.

UPDATE: AFP reports Paddock was a retired accountant and a high-stakes, heavy gambler. The AP is reporting Paddock's brother says he was a multimillionaire real-estate investor. They also say he had no criminal record.

Paddock's father was on the FBI's most wanted list and was described as "psychopathic."


No motive has been released for the shooting.

NBC News says he's a local with a criminal past and was known to law enforcement.



Over 50 people were killed and over 200 were injured in Sunday night's attack.


According to Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Paddock shot at his victims from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino. Paddock killed himself and police found him in the same location.





"We believe it's a solo actor. A lone wolf," Lombardo said. "We are comfortable that the primary aggressor in this event has expired or passed away and is no longer a threat."

Law enforcement sources told CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton that person of interest Marilou Danley was Paddock's wife. According to The Australian, Danley is an Australian and possibly of Indonesian descent.


Police said Monday they do not believe the shooting was terror related.
