Though it was good for a laugh, the report claiming Jared Kushner registered to vote as a female in New York was too good to be true.

From New York Daily News:
Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, did in fact list himself as a male in his New York voter registration -- but an elections database error led to him getting listed as a female.

Kushner's supposed registration as a woman, which made headlines Wednesday, is actually a data entry error that the New York Board of Elections corrected only after it became public.

[...]Board of Elections Executive Director Michael Ryan confirmed that this was an error on the board's part. He said it was "impossible to go back in time" and figure out how the mistake happened, but he suspected Kushner's ambiguous New Jersey registration led to the mixup.

"It does happen from time to time," Ryan told the Daily News.
According to The Daily Caller, a liberal activist group funded by David Brock was the source for the initial report.
The idea that Kushner, the son-in-law of President Trump, registered as a woman first came from American Bridge, a Democratic opposition research group founded by activist David Brock.

Citing information provided by American Bridge, the magazine Wired reported on Wednesday that Kushner registered to vote in 2009 as a female.
