While YouTube is mass-demonetizing independent channels which could be in anyway considered controversial, they had no problems approving ads on Stephen Colbert's "homophobic" video calling President Trump a "c*ck holster" for Vladimir Putin. In a monologue posted Tuesday, Colbert said Trump talks "like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head," adding, "In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's c*ck holster." While Colbert's comments drew heat and caused #FireColbert to trend on Twitter, as of 10:00 AM EST on Wednesday, the video begins with a 1 minute long, unskippable ad. Right-wing commentator Paul Joseph Watson posted a graph last month showing how his advertising revenue has collapsed thanks to mass demonetization.
