Pope Says Church Should Apologize to Gays for Orlando ShootingChris MenahanInformationLiberation Jun. 27, 2016 |
Apparently, the Orlando massacre was the fault of Christians. If you thought the Afghan Muslim who shot up the Pulse Nightclub and "pledged allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State" was to blame for the massacre -- you're wrong, it was Christians, and they need to get to apologizing! From NPR: Aboard a flight home from Armenia, Pope Francis fielded a pointed question from reporters: Did he agree with German Cardinal Reinhard Marx, who, in the wake of the Orlando shooting, said gays deserve an apology from the Church? The Pope went on to apologize for the Brussels bombing, the Paris attacks and the shootings in San Bernardino... (Alright, that last part was a joke). Incidentally, last week the FBI said they've found no evidence the Orlando shooter was gay, despite searching through all his electronics, cell phone, computers, etc. As the LA Times reported: "So far, they have found no photographs, no text messages, no smartphone apps, no gay pornography and no cell-tower location data to suggest that Mateen — who was twice married to women and had a young son — conducted a secret gay life, the officials said." Let's not let that get in the way of a good apology. Follow InformationLiberation on Twitter and Facebook. |
