You may not have realized reading all the outraged comments on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and in every comment section throughout the internet, but there is 100% uniform support for Harriet Tubman replacing Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. ABC News's Jennifer Hansler this afternoon wrote an article titled "Here's How People Reacted to the New $20 Bill." While you may have been expecting to read a cross section of opinions both for and against the controversial new change, you'd be wrong. While Hansler does briefly mention -- without providing a single source -- the public's response has been "predominantly positive," she goes on to quote eleven Twitter users who are uniformly in favor the change, starting with Hillary Clinton:
I cannot think of an American hero more deserving of this honor than Harriet Tubman. https://t.co/GL64NPrOL1 Justice is served. #GoodbyeJackson #HelloHarriet pic.twitter.com/mXzM2oLg4m I'm gonna pay everything I ever owe in 20$s from now on! Mortgage, student loans, dinner, taxes...ALL OF IT!! #HarrietTubman I'm gonna need my pockets full of Tubmans! Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Well done, National Treasury. Well, well done. #tubman20 #HarrietTubman howwwwww mad is andrew jackson right now "And I prayed to God to make me strong. And able to fight. And that's what I've always prayed for ever since." #HarrietTubman 1865 Outlaw. Fugitive. Hero. #HarrietTubman https://t.co/AJsVLmSC65 Very happy to see Harriet Tubman a truly courageous, inspiring woman getting recognized on the $20 #prideinwomankind pic.twitter.com/jCmnYSvh7XThis is what passes for "balanced" media reporting. If you open up the comments on the ABC article, the top one is pointing out their insane bias. Disqus user Kai Thorsen writes: "The other ABC article about the new bill got lots of negative comments, so this article - showing only positive ones - just had to follow. "We don't only report the news - we tweak it!" The media no longer feel the need to exert any effort when lying to us. Follow InformationLiberation on Twitter and Facebook. |
