A Texas cop arrested a man for video recording him as they were making an arrest, ordering the man to either delete the video or hand it over as “evidence.” The Cisco police officer then stormed up to another person who was recording and tried to rip the phone out of his hands. But that phone apparently ended up in the hands of a woman, who continued recording. The 3:22 video is chaotic and doesn’t explain much, but it shows enough to prove that the Cisco Police Department has no regard for the rights of citizens to record them. The Cisco Police Department released a statement justifying the arrests: One of the officers noticed several of the persons on scene were recording events on cell phones and felt compelled to take the phones because he believed that they may contain evidence of interference with public duties of a police officer and resisting arrest.But if they were so concerned about evidence, the cop would not have ordered the man to delete the footage in the first place.
