MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis police officer accused of preying on a teenage girl was due in court Monday. Police say Derrick Abdul Wakil, who is charged with two counts of solicitation of a minor, offered the 14-year-old girl a ride while she was walking to school. The girl said he was dressed as a police officer and drove a marked MPD vehicle. The girl said she was picked up at Walker and Neptune in South Memphis by Wakil, who said he would give her a ride since it was cold outside. She said Abdul Wakil had a jacket on his lap and performed a lewd act while touching her. Read More |
