Cop Forgets His Police Dog In Car, Dog Dies Of Heat Stroke, No Charges

Chris | InformationLiberation

Police in New York pushed to make it a felony for a citizen to kill a police dog, yet what happens when a police officer kills his own dog?

Apparently, not much.

Bennettsville, South Carolina police officer Robert Miller left his dog named "Tank" in his police cruiser with the windows rolled up and no water when he went to do some paperwork at the police department. He completely forgot he left Tank in his car and the dog, which by the way no doubt cost tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars to train, died a horrible death from heat stroke.

Was the officer charged with negligent homicide? Animal cruelty?

Of course not, he faced no charges. Instead he got a meager 90-day suspension and was forbidden from being a K-9 officer.

A tax-slave citizen in Maryland who did exactly the same as this officer by leaving her dog in her hot car when she went to the mall for some 90 minutes was just charged with animal cruelty, specifically for "confinement in an unsafe manner," she's facing 90 days in jail and $1000 fine, and her dog lived and is seemingly doing just fine.

There are two sets of laws in this country, those for the rulers, and those for the ruled.

70199 The idiot cop should have been locked in his patrol car during the hottest part of the day, preferably in summer, and left to die.

One more death chalked-up to the state - how sad.

@CEDRIC WARD, cops are dead, they just don't realize this fact. In finite form, they do "exist," ("they occupy a specific point in space in time," in other words), however, in this "system of things", they are merely pawns; (or, "Winston," in the book: "1984").

If the police dog's owner, were to be charged, the state would run the risk of revealing the chess-game - they can't have that.

As I've said previously, on this site, I could care less what happens to the police and their dogs - when it comes to the construct's benefit. But, in the finite world, they deserve something far better, than, being bashed by the masses. (Finite vs Infinite, is the way I see it. And, no one should be put to death, (dogs included,) for an officers failure.

7279 Cops aren't held to the same confines the average citizen has to abide by, but yet they are suppose to be our servants, to protect and serve. That service we the people pay for by our taxes has become blurred by the police departments ignorant sense of authority that they are above the law that they are paid to enforce. Get pulled over by an officer, listen to what they say to you, what they ask and what follows, usually manipulating words to catch you in a lie or a suppose confession that you did something that justifies you being pulled over and get fined, or arrested. The worse offenders of the law are the ones we entrust to enforce.

166147 We all know its good to be king and not be subject to his own rules. That pinhead should endure the same treatment but he has a BS union to support his criminal behavior !

184101 how is this not a crime you tell us the people that the dog is a police man and we get charged if we hurt or kill him same as if it was a police man so show me where that this is justice for the police dog and us the people,,,,we the people would be in jail for the murder of a officer of the someone needs to step up and do the job.. not pick sides..

98194 I'm so sick of hearing stories like this. If you are responsible for a police dog then rule number one during training should be "DON'T NEGLECT THEM!". I don't think dogs should be on the police force anyway, but I especially don't think they should be subjected to that line of work if their care takers won't even meet the minimum standard of care.
