Hawthorne, CA Police Arrest Man for Filming Raid, Shoot his Dog in Front of Him

Chris | InformationLiberation

In this shocking video out of Hawthorne, California, police arrest a man for videotaping a SWAT team barricade, then shoot and kill his dog when it comes to his rescue.

The dog is seen flailing around as his life is drained from him thanks to the officers' actions.

It should be noted filming police is entirely legal, the cops falsely charged the man with "obstruction" as a pretext to falsely arrest him, therefor it's irrelevant the dog threatened the officers, as the cops consciously and cynically chose to commit a false arrest because they didn't feel comfortable with him videotaping.

From CBS LA:
Attorney Michael Gulden said his client Leon Rosby was watching and taking video of the Hawthorne SWAT team when police claimed Rosby was obstructing officers during the barricade.

Rosby is seen in video footage walking with the dog – which appeared to be a Rottweiler – near several patrol cars to capture the scene on his phone.

After an exchange with nearby officers, Rosby is heard saying the words, “civil rights violation” before returning the dog to his vehicle.

As officers begin to proceed toward Rosby, he also begins walking in the direction of the officers and is then taken into custody without any further exchange.

While Rosby is handcuffed, the dog is seen escaping from the vehicle through an open rear window and then approaching the officers while barking.

When one officer motions toward the animal, the dog is seen jumping up and toward the officer, at which point four shots were fired, according to Gulden.
Update: Here's video from Mr. Rosby explaining how the incident went down:

9915 That is so sad and cruel. The officer needs to be held accountable. I love my dog just as sure as this guy loves his. There was no need to even try to arrest him. There were others recording as well, this we know because we're watching it. They could have let him put his dog up. There was no need for this at all. I hope that officer gets what's coming to him. If it had of been the reverse they would've thought there was no harm done..

74196 These policemen s actions were no where near justified. A simple talking would of sufficed. Instead they bound up a guy for doing nothing but operating a type of phone that is everywhere nowadays. That dog was upset because they were laying their hands on his owner. On top of that, after they shoot the dog enough that he will be dead they don't do the humane thing and shoot it in the head. They just leave it in the street whining... This is such disappointing behavior from those who are supposed to set a moral example. There are no peacekeepers anymore. Just LAW ENFORCEMENT. No matter what that law is. This country is doomed by its own devices.

18412 If police stop you for no valid reason, if you feel the officer had no legitimate reason to stop you. Please file a complaint with the FBI Civil Rights Division. It's online and even though you, like so many today are afraid of the police. The FBI does take civil rights violations seriously.

If no one complains, no one knows, and they get away with it.

199191 Fuck these fucking cops!!! I give a shit if it was a raid or not, they like to assert their dominance over people. They will never dominate me, and if they do I'll a lawyer butt fuck that department in the ass. We are within our rights to videotape who, and whatever the fuck we want as Americans. So these cops are just wrong. I can tell you that if I were the ones in handcuffs, and you shot my dog, you'd have a broken nose via my head because even though I would technically be handcuffed, their faces would be within striking distance of my head. also I would be as difficult as I could be legally with the officers.
