17454 This should easy be a 1 or 2 million dollar lawsuit. Failure to provide him with a phone call and putting him in jail for 5 days for an unsigned ticket?

678 Suppose you go to jail, and the judge gives you $200 bail, and you refuse to pay that, whose fault is that? It's yours. You have no grounds for complaint about staying in jail for a month after refusing to give bond.

Signing a ticket is bond: Your promise to show up in court. If you sign the ticket, they let you go on with your life because you've given bond. Refuse to sign, refuse to give bond? It is YOUR fault you are in jail!

And what is it with all these refusals to sign tickets, recently? Did someone somewhere give a seminar? Where they taught: "It's better to go to jail than to sign a ticket?" If there was, the presenter is a moron, and he's looking to multiply. Someone should stop him before he degrades the intelligence of the whole human race.
