Cops Swarm Property Over Suspected Meth Lab, Find Bucket Of Maple Syrup Instead

An Illinois citizen reported their neighbor to police for allegedly manufacturing meth, leading to police "swarming" the suspects' residence, only problem is they weren't manufacturing meth, but instead collecting maple syrup.

Via KFVS:

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Union County family got the scare of their lives on Wednesday morning as drug agents swarmed onto their property.

"I heard the dogs barking. And I knew that meant somebody was outside the house," said Laura Benson. "And I looked out the windows and I seen a truck coming up the driveway fairly fast. And an Anna police car right behind it."

At first, Laura says she thought her son had done something wrong. Then she says she couldn't believe her ears when she heard the drug agents say this.

"They had a report of a meth lab going on on our property. And they wanted to investigate it."

So the Benson's gladly showed the officers what they really were doing, which was making their own maple syrup.

"They pointed to the buckets and I told them my husband has a hobby of making maple syrup. Of course they realized it once they seen it," said Laura. "But I was quite startled this morning."

The Bensons supposedly "thanked" their neighbors for reporting them to the police as it shows they "cared."

Truth is, they should be counting their lucky stars the police didn't raid them guns blazing in a no-knock raid over this false tip and kill them on the spot, Todd Blair wasn't so fortunate.

Wonder who the dumb dumb is that thinks Meth comes from trees lol... Buckets next to trees looks like a meth lab? haha... This is the problem with citizen snitch programs. It was fine and dandy this time but in other PDs they would have raided the place with swat and someone could have gotten hurt or killed for freaking maple syrup.

the government has already promised, that kids who don't meet the standard to perfection, will not be tolerated, (that's newspeak for "euthanized").

meantime, i have sister working for the government cartel and one on meth. life couldn't be any more upside down. i find that promises with happy endings, are usually told by liars.

who knew that we could write history ourselves? there's no hope for the police state, it can't last. i think i'll donate my body to science in advance..... just for fun. (acronyms for f. u.n.)

Remarkably, Bensons are thankful to their neighbors without any "quotes":

"The Benson's want to thank their neighbors for being so alert and notifying the police.

"I think my neighbors on their way to church see the buckets and stuff and think we've got a meth lab operation going on here. I just want to put their minds at ease, and let them know it's maple syrup. And that they're all welcome for pancakes if they want to come on over."

"They even gave the agents a sample of their syrup to take home and enjoy."

I can't imagine what the degree of their boot-licking gratitude would be if it _was_ a no-knock warrant.

Bensons apparently don't think the government is tyrannical, according to the sample gifts they gave. I'm sure they enjoyed the encounter, because it demonstrated that the government "cares" and accordingly protects them all from those who would really cook meth. Plus, the police actually realized that there was no crime and didn't do them any harm, even though they could. More gratitude.

In Stalin's Russia many folks who were thrown in concentration camps for nothing, actually believed that there had to be something they've done wrong, and it was their even bigger sin that they didn't realize what it was - unlike the all-wisdom Party. They accordingly came to respect Party and Stalin even more.
