Another Family Business Destroyed: Morningland Dairy Raw Milk Cheese Raided

Moriningland Dairy, a family business that has been in operation for over 30 years without a single complaint or report of any illness has ceased today. The over two year battle they've had with the Missouri Milk Board ended today with a raid and confiscation of over 250 thousand dollars of inventory seized by the state. As a result of the legal stipulations put on Morningland Dairy which are impossible to comply with they will no longer be able to produce their product.

The real crime they are being persecuted for is producing cheese with raw milk. Whether the state wants to admit it or not that is what their real charge is and that in itself is criminal.

This should be the shot heard 'round the rural world. What has been done to this family is a travesty of justice. Their livelihood has been destroyed. These are good people who ran an honest business. How much more tyranny will we tolerate before we tell the state, Enough!

If we would have had a strong Constitutionally minded Sheriff in Howell County Missouri this would never have been allowed to happen. Sheriff Mike Shannon, where were you? Why didn't you return any calls or emails? Why did you send your deputies to assist in this theft? We would like some answers.

Here is a video made from that day of the Howell County Missouri Sheriff's Department

Correction: In this original title caption it was reported 39 tons of inventory were confiscated. That number was incorrect. The exact weight of inventory confiscated was 36,420 LBS or 18.2 tons, NOT 39. I apologize for that. I am going to keep this original video up but make sure that correct number is reported per this disclaimer. Thank You.

Morningland Dairy's two and a half year battle with the Missouri State Milk Board ended Friday, January 25, 2013

Clearly, Mike Shannon, Sheriff of Howell County needs to be educated on the authority of his office and his Oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Sheriff Mike Shannon was not on site at all during the confiscation of 18.2 tons of inventory but he did dispatch 5 deputies to Morningland Dairy that morning to execute and aid in the confiscation and the destruction of Morningland Dairy cheese. The Sheriffs Department representatives on scene that morning were led by Lt. Al Jones.

During the process the Howell Co. Sheriffs department demanded IDs from peaceful supports, swatted a camera of one supporter, and in an attempt at some sort of "Pre-Crime" or was it intimidation, they took photographs of all the supporters of the Dixon's and Morningland Dairy, and our vehicle license plates.

Four out of five Sheriff Department officials refused to answer the question, "If ordered to do so would you confiscate the firearms of law abiding citizens?" Only Sheriff Deputy Reed gave a satisfactory answer.

Sheriff Shannon, you should lead from the front and begin to understand your job is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of Missouri. It is not to enforce and assist out of control federal and state agencies in theft while hiding behind clearly unconstitutional court orders. Following orders is no excuse. That was proven at Nuremberg Trials.

I encourage you Sheriff Mike Shannon to read Sheriff Richard Mack's book, "The County Sheriff: America's Last Hope" and begin to understand what your real responsibilities and authority are. You can contact the Howell County Missouri Sheriff's Department and let them know just how you feel about this issue at the following link:

Keep in mind folks, had any supporter on site swatted the camera out of the hand of one of the deputies they would have been arrested for assault without question. That said we feel that given the peaceful nature of the people there in support of Morningland Dairy and the questions they posed to the officers many of their eyes may have begun to open.

It's time for you to lead Sheriff Mike Shannon and lead from the front. It's never too late and if you do the people will get behind you. Look at the following link and see how a real Constitutional Sheriff would have handled this situation.
