Hurst Police Officer Won't Face Criminal Charges Over "Move and F**kin' Die" Incident

[...] the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Officer Arnold will not be charged with a crime.

"After reviewing the video, we advised the police department that it did not appear that a crime had occurred," Melody McDonald, a spokesperson for the Tarrant County DA's office, told the paper.

Arnold is still on administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation. It's unclear whether that leave is paid or unpaid, and what possible violations of department policy Internal Affairs is investigating. We've left messages for Hurst PD and Rodriguez's mother and will update if we hear back.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez is still being charged with resisting arrest. His court date is set for January 7.

75145 The officer indeed has the freedom of speech and can say to anyone pretty much whatever he wants, however rude or even intimidating. His language might have violated department's policies, but it's not a crime. Police may lie, can threaten with non-existing crimes ("if you don't (...), we will arrest you" - if they could, they would have already), can make fake promises ("confess in this crime and we will forgive you"), it's all part of the game, and everybody has to be prepared to not accept a word from them, neither good or bad one, at their face value.

Same as the citizen can say anything to the officer. So, there was nothing preventing the radiographer and arrested replying back in not as polite and respectful tone as they did.
