A bold university student records his entertaining tongue lashing of two campus police intent on searching his dorm. Little did the campus police know he was recording his interaction with them, and after searching his dorm against school policy, they flee once they realize they're being videotaped! Interestingly, the idiot masses are interpreting this video completely wrong (imagine that) and are saying this youth is the one in the wrong! Fortunately, ridefree on reddit dug up the university's room entry policy and it explicitly states "Authorization to enter a student's room under this policy does not constitute authorization to conduct a search of the room." The campus cop was in the wrong as he searched through the young man's refrigerator against school policy. Was the young man being "belligerent" as everyone is all up in arms about? Well, yes, but so were the campus police. Regardless, being belligerent is not grounds for a search. It will be interesting to see if the university tries to kick the young man out for defending his rights, or if they uphold their own rules and fire the campus police. For some reason, I don't think they'll choose the latter. Update: The university made the right decision and fired the criminal cop. _ Chris runs the website InformationLiberation.com, you can read more of his writings here. Follow infolib on twitter here. |
