Another innocent man has been freed from the US's colossal prison state thanks to DNA evidence overturning the government's fraudulent conviction. The government's prosecutor told the man, "I deeply regret what the system did. I wish you the best and I mean that sincerely." In other words, he absolved himself of any responsibility for his actions and blamed "the system" instead. That he himself is "the system" as "the system" is only a gang of criminals who call themselves "the government" is apparently lost on him, who'da thunk... Via Reuters: A Colorado man wrongly convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the rape and murder of a woman found strangled with a dog leash was exonerated on the basis of new DNA evidence and set free on Monday after spending more than 16 years behind bars. Not perfect? Gee, that's the understatement of the year. This was a completely innocent man who had his freedom stolen from him by an unfeeling criminal government, the original principle of "better 100 guilty men go free than one innocent man be imprisoned" has been replaced with "better 100 innocent men be jailed than one guilty man go free." At Dewey's original sentencing, then-Mesa County District Judge Charles Buss was quoted in local media as telling the defendant that, "I am happy to impose it (a life sentence) on you."As we've pointed out many times, the US now has more people in prison than Stalin had in his gulags. This out of control prison state is bankrupting the nation and turning the US into a third world police state. The sad news is rather than people realizing this and changing the US's laws for the better, legislatures are passing more laws and criminalizing more actions than ever. There we're 40,000 new laws passed last year alone, there is currently some 800,000+ regulations on the books. Everything is a crime in the new America, if you're not reading this from prison, consider yourself fortunate. |
