![]() I saw this whole "it gets better" nonsense on reddit a while ago and it was obvious it was totally misguided and a misdiagnosis of the problem. It doesn't matter if things get better in the future, the school system is a prison and the culture in them is the same as the prison culture. The perpetual age segregation assures no one with any wisdom is with these kids to keep things civil and help mediate conflict. Instead, it's a lord of the flies type situation where it's a war of all against all. School is a 12 year jail sentence, choose homeschooling or private schooling in Montessori, or try unschooling which is better than them all. Kids don't need coping mechanisms, they need freedom. How many more children have to die before people realize these government schools are pure evil? - ChrisBack in May, Buffalo teen Jamey Rodermeyer contributed a video to the "It Gets Better" campaign. Though only 14, Rodermeyer felt he had a message of hope to send whoever was watching. Now, four months later, he's dead of a suicide. Jamey's parents, who found him dead at their home early Monday morning, say that he had been bullied because of his perceived sexuality for years, but that they thought that he was doing better, having started high school three weeks ago. Following his death, they now suspect he'd just gotten better at hiding the effects of being harassed. Friends at his school say he was still being teased and worse on a regular basis. Read More |
