Right On Time!: Whooping Cough Declared an Epidemic in California

Health officials have seen three times as many cases as expected for this time of year.

See below where I posted the article calling for these vaccines to be mandatory, two days later they come out and declare it a pandemic! - ChrisLOS ANGELES -- State health officials have declared whooping cough an epidemic in California and say it is on pace to break a 50-year record for infections and deaths for the year.

As of June 15, California had 910 recorded cases of the highly contagious disease -- also known as pertussis. Five babies, all under three months of age, have died from the disease this year.

The prevalence of the disease peaks in the summer months, according to Al Lundeen, a spokesman for the state Department of Health.
