Power couple talks fun, fashion at Atlantic partyWell-known socialites Celerie Kemble and Boykin Curry added some New York flavor to the Mayflower Hotel for the Atlantic magazine's First Draft of History event. By: Jacque Bland and Tara Palmeri
Kemble, of Kemble Interiors, and Curry, a money manager, are close friends with David Bradley, owner of Atlantic Media Co.
"I worked for Bradley out of college for about 18 months," Curry told Yeas & Nays on Wednesday night. "I try to make it to all of his events."
The power couple will be in town until Friday afternoon, attending the Atlantic and Aspen Institute's Ideas Forum.
Classic but chic, Kemble wore a dress by Lela Rose, a close friend with whom she shares studio space in New York.
Kemble, of course, commented on D.C.'s fashion failures.
"Where are all of the H&Ms, Zaras and Forever 21s?" Kemble asked. "All of the fun fashion starts with the lower-end stores."
She also wondered why Rose wasn't popular in the District.
The fashionista said she hoped to see a former Harvard classmate, CNN's Jessica Yellin, while in town, but said she probably wouldn't have the time.
Kemble and Curry are developing property in the Dominican Republic that they purchased with Richard Meier, Fareed Zakaria, Moby, Michael Stipe, Mariska Hargitay and Charlie Rose -- to name a few.
Kemble described their getaway as "the place where all thieves and bandits run away to."
Excited about the mix of personalities who will co-habitate in the 5-acre stretch of paradise, Curry said he was even more anxious about picking his lot.
A gracious and modest couple, the socialites left the party with luggage in hand, rubber flip-flops on Kemble, and hopped into a D.C. taxi.

Please note: InformationLiberation is neither liberal or conservative. When one takes the time to research the "liberal elite," whom the conservatives oppose, and the "conservative elite," whom the liberals oppose, one finds both "elite" are one and the same. "Liberal" or "Conservative" is not a substantive choice, it is only the carefully crafted illusion of a choice, for both parties come together when they are instructed to.
"The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson."
A letter written by FDR to Colonel House, November 21st, 1933
"Fifty men have run America, and that's a high figure."
Joseph Kennedy, father of JFK, in the July 26th, 1936 issue of The New York Times.
If you care to know who runs the world you live in, view these films. If you care not then I leave you with this quote to ponder:
"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution."
Aldous Huxley, Tavistock Group, California Medical School, 1961
