Things are bad: What do we do about it?

Chris | InformationLiberation

Everybody knows things are bad in the world. Everything is not peachy. The problems are innumerable, the economy, our freedoms, our happiness, our quality of life, we are suffering in all aspects of life and though we hope for a better future we feel as though the things which are outside of our control will only get worse. The situation we are in is overwhelming, we feel like there is something we can do but we don't know what to do! Whenever anyone is faced with this overwhelming situation, the question always becomes "what do we do about it?"

Do we run out on the streets? Do we protest and go on strike? People do not really know what to do, they just do nothing or else they go and look for an out to it all. They join some political party or they become religious or they start drinking or taking drugs. They try to make money or work their way out of it, or they try to pleasure their way out of it with food or sex.

There are many different paths people can take, but what they all have in common is this: Avoidance.

When a person says "what do we do about it" they are looking for an out. They want a savior to come and save them from it all, or they want to find some distant world where they escape it all. This is totally normal and perfectly reasonable. There is nothing wrong with people for feeling this way, I am as guilty of it as anyone else and I am not above it.

The problem we are in is not one of our making. Once again: the problem we are in is not one of our making. History is filled with butchery and murder, tyranny and theocratic oppression is the norm. We've all been born into a nightmare and we're just now waking up to how terrifying and all encompassing it all is. We are searching for outs but there are none, we are hoping to one day wake up and find it was all a bad dream. This is why it's not uncommon to hear the question "what do we do about it?"

There are endless people who say they have found the outs.

"It's the economic system!" they say,
"It's the government!" they say,
"It's the religions!" they say.

None of these things are at the root of the problem. How do I know this? Because none of these things are actually real. History has been dominated by these three systems but what do they all have in common... ?

They are all faith-based belief systems.

Economics is not actually a science, the entire system is based on faith. If no one believed the money they or anyone else had was worth anything, it would not be worth anything. Are you starting to get the picture? It's a belief system, it's based on faith and nothing more. Many people realize this, what most do not realize is that "government" is the same thing. There is no such thing as a "government." Government is an idea, to quote GHWB on the New World Order, "It is a big idea." People think that the government is something real, they see the huge buildings and pillars and statues and they feel like it is a separate entity unto itself which rules over things. This is an illusion. And this is where we start to get to the root of the problem.

Let me introduce you to a word which is in almost no ones vocabulary. The word is hypostatized. As I type it right now my Firefox spell check says it's not a word.
verb (used with object), -tized, -tiz⋅ing.

to treat or regard (a concept, idea, etc.) as a distinct substance or reality.
Also, especially British, hy⋅pos⋅ta⋅tise.

182030; < Gk hypostat(s) (see hypostatic ) + -ize
This word describes the exact problem which is at the root of all other problems people believe they suffer from. We live in a faith based system, we live in a belief system, we think it is real and a distinct substance but it is not, we are only regarding it as such.

Just as the power of money would cease to exist if people did not believe in it, the power of government would cease to exist if no one believed in it. And I say that knowing what I'm talking about is a nonexistent entity which does not exist outside of peoples minds.

You see, when you understand this the problem is not what do we do about it, the problem is why have people ceased for thousands of years to realize this extremely basic fact of life? Why do people believe this nonsense and let it run their lives?

Because at the root of everything is the most basic human condition and the most basic and all pervasive of human problems, the avoidance of the obvious. Everybody knows what is wrong with the world and themselves, the problems are not complex, but people avoid the basic solutions which are staring them right in the face. They do not want to face up to the truth, they do not want the responsibility which it implies, they are afraid of life and of actually living.

This is the real problem with the world, it's blatant and it's staring you in the face. When you look at a puppy or a child they are free, they don't recognize the false belief systems and fake systems of control which we "civilized" adults all believe are basic and real, all they recognize is life, their feelings, their soul, their spirit, these things are the essence of life.

People believe themselves to be their beliefs, they say things like "I'm a Christian,"
"I'm a Democrat,"
"I'm a Philosopher,"
"I'm a Salesman,"

No. That is what you believe yourself to be. What you really are is your spirit, you are your mind, your soul, you are your feelings, you are your yearnings and your hopes and dreams. You are the spirit you had in you as a child and the spirit that is in a gallant puppy dog at the park.

You've been tricked into hypostatizing so many beliefs to the point where you actually think that they are what you are. I am here to tell you that you are not your beliefs, you need to wake up to this, this is the only thing keeping you from being truly free. Everyone needs to realize this, stop believing in the system and realize there is no system. Stop believing and start living!

Once you realize all this the question becomes how do you regain life? When you really look at life you see how all life is spontaneous in origin, it happens of itself. There is nothing to "do" there is just something to "be." We need to reinvent the term "be yourself" to literally mean "be" yourself. Nowadays it means much more "do" yourself IE "be the best lawyer or salesman or businessman you can be through doing lots of work!"

The regaining of life is a process, it's a process where you get back in touch with the spirit and spontaneity which is inside you and begin to liberate your suppressed feelings and expressions. Whereas if you were dead inside you would suppress all your spontaneity, if you are alive inside you express all your spontaneous feelings and just be yourself in the literal sense! It is both fun and liberating, you will feel good as a result of it, and you will free yourself and the world with it! Don't worry if it all doesn't happen at once, it took years to brainwash you and suppress your spirit and it will take time to deprogram yourself and refresh your spirit, but with every little victory you, and the world, will become more free!
"Trust the quiet inner voice that tells you what to do. You hold your life in your hands, don't entrust it to anyone else, least of all to your chosen leaders. BE YOURSELF! Any number of great men have told you that." - Wilhelm Reich

17374 What you speak of is nothing other than "universal truth". As you so rightly state, it is staring us in the face every moment of our life. Every human being enters this world aware and present with this nameless state/identity "being".

Thereby, by definition it requires no doing to "be". Ahhh, how vast and infinite!

202180 If I was truly myself at work, then I would probably be fired in less than 20 minutes. (This is because my "real self" is ruthlessly and explicity expressive with its damnation of vulgar people). I actually supress what I really feel, and in part even what I really know, to avoid expressing myself.

Know the difference between who you are and who you have to be - but make sure you suppress when you have to. It's a fact of life in the world we live in that supression must be done.

21126 Great piece Chris, much appreciated, it drove the message home. Being still a smoker who just can't seem to give up, I know exactly what you are talking about.

There would have to be a litany of reasons why people don't wake up to themselves and the environment they live in. The avoidance of the obvious sort of sums them up. Like people moving next to train tracks, initially hearing the noise every time, until, gradually, we become accustomed to it and eventually manage to block it out entirely.

98148 The human race loves to divide itself into endless categories and classes: Catholic, Orthodox, whites, blacks, yellows, democrats, republicans, this and that. First of all we are human beings. I've read Krishnamurti's The awakening of intelligence a good while ago, however, it really took me quite a few years to deeply understand his point of view about us as individual human beings. We all are guided and our minds formed to be what we think we are, and to hate and reject the other one because he/she happens to see things differently. We build walls around ourselves to protect us from different points of view; we constantly restrict our minds until the point of narrow mindedness where we accept and praise empty slogans that have no meanings, and reduce deep feelings, that ought to live in our souls, reduce them to a piece of paper we can stick on the bumper of the car...
We have ambitious plans to save the Planet, but the thing we should save first is ourselves...
It is within us to finally wake up and see things as they really are.
Peace and Love.

76104 Sounds to me like more revolutionary thought. Did anyone ever tell to think that there is no problems, this new world order on one side of the coin is the idea of "Unity" but on the other side is the millitant obsession of control, Religion is a problem, Government is a problem, Economy is a problem, but this is only one side of the solutions that are part of the problem. People I think need to learn to stop being so power and control mongering, focus on more of the problems at hand. "Everyone thinks to change the world, but has anyone ever thought to change themselves?" Leo Tolstoy. Religion segregates the world, divides the people, but it also has a beautiful message, subtracting the undivided faith that they believe you need to be what they call a righteous soul. That word does not belong by it's self every thing has a synonym, just like us. In the move the matrix, Agent Smith classifies the human existence as a Virus, a plague on the planet, and this is only part of the truth. I have seen good in people and I have seen the worst, in the end none of this matters. I think it to be our decision in the future if we are going to decide, to realize, what really matters the most, our survival, and most of all worrying most about ourselves before the changes that are needed, for the better good for the species, to take place. Greed, selfishness, love, hate, sacrifices they are all going to have to take place whether we like it or not. I use to have these conversations with my neighbor often, you know the only thing we could truly agree upon most of the time is "we are both sick of all of these 'Team Killers', we are all the same species, we are born with the same needs, and I think all of us have all of the same ambitions, in some form or another. I just hope in the future that people will be more accepting, have more self control, and like the article says start living in reality more, instead of looking to religion, government, the economy as the problems, because we are all resoponisble, and we are the only true solutions.

62163 I agree.

There is however one thing I don't understand.
If you were to individually give up your believe in money, would you go back living in the woods??

So many things you buy today (even in the supermarket) have blood on them, in one way or the other.

72158 This is addressed to Dave, specifically, but if anyone can help, then please do so...and this has nothing to do with this article.
In a previous post you mentioned that the drunk people in the pictures of on New Year's as being DIDs. In very plain English could you, or someone, explain to me how the dissociating occurs, or rather, what qualifies them as being DIDs? Is it because they just mindlessy go along with life (football, pubs, partying, working) or is it something else? Thanks.

8386 Nice article.

And when you live your life free from all these illusionary idealogical prisons, its amazing just how well the universe folds around you and supports you.

72158 Matt...just who is the "Dragon", or do we already know? Sounds ideological to me...sounds like you need to stop running from the TRUTH.

8386 See the film Excalibre.

The dragon is the illusory world this article is talking about. We have no need to fear it because it can not hurt us unless we believe in it.

78146 Here's another word up for deconstruction and examination. Government = Govern Ment = Mind Control - i.e. in order to govern you must have control over the minds of the populace.

Utopia would be nice but mother nature, and instinct are real. We act and react hundreds of times a day to multiple kinds, and types of stimuli, much of which we have little or no control over. We can follow, rebel, ignore, or go back to the cave. To think that we humans can, through a personal,or individual change in our thinking create a universal mindset, is wishful at best.

All governments have not been bad, all religions are not bad, nor have all means of exchange been bad, and many of the good changed over time because we have an instinctive faith in mankind, our fellow man to do the right thing, because that is what we would do.

We humans are a diverse lot, most of us are good in our hearts, but not all. In the end our instinctive will to survive will decide the future of mankind. The struggle never ends, but there is strength in it.

8610 I do agree and on a typical journey of awakening people are bound to reach such philosophical arguments. However real or unreal these systems are we can't bring that argument to someone on the street who still thinks Obama is superman and that nasty terrorists are our greatest threat. They need to start with very real arguments, facts, videos etc.
What we can do is 1) talk to people even if means your relationships may change. I have accepted that this is a certainty. 2) Start a site like I have (plug!) I read the comments policy...;-)
By the way, this is a fantastic site! Great work.

174130 Ummmm....just for ya information Obama is NOT a superman, nothing of the sort and there really are terrorists. Im not sure about 9//11, but whether u like it or not there are terrorists who want to kill either you or some other 'infidel' And yes i agree this is a great site

174130 correction: I just noticed you said that Obama was NOT superman, so i was agreeing on that point.

63214 I think the article touched on two very important points and I feel that only one of them is coming through. That we as humans tend to avoid responsibility through turning our gaze from the "obvious" ev
eryone seemed generally in agreement with. I agree that we turn our gaze from these problems as well but not for the reason of avoiding responsibility. Why? Because embracing responsibility for benevolent purpose increases self esteem and feels good, not bad and we are suckers for the feelgood.I firmly beleive we do this for two reasons....the first brought out by -the author of this pointed article-- that these problems are not of our creation...HELLO. When one creates a problem, the solution is implicit, and even simply, wrapped within it Those commenting seemed to space completely on this point the author made...WE DID NOT CREATE THESE PROBLEMS, so our avoidance is a way of soothing the fear and anxiety the solutions to complex problems not of our creation are causing the human psyche. ( That we are responsible "collectively" to solve these issues because we created them is a belief system also that has been drilled into our heads by an outside source-most people beleive this) Had we created the problems ourselves, their existance wouldn't cause the type of suffering that it does, we would know the answers and put the reversals of these issues to work on our behalf. The fact is there is a force working against the human race, manipulating human perception, using the human race to it's own ends, while keeping its own presence hidden, because it has the power to do so. We don't know what to do because it is not in our nature to create the types of concerns we are even suffering from-our nature has been infiltrated, we have been tampered with and are still being toyed with. I think this article was good but not GREAT until the author is willing to expose what he meant in great detail by what her said-"These are not problems of our creation".
What we need to be doing as a whole is asking ourselves who did create these problems, why did they do it, and how can we stop this force from continuing what it has been doing for millenia.
