 With more and more crimes being caught on surveillance cameras, they often seem to be the biggest clues in catching crooks. Now the City of Sacramento may catch up with the times, and start installing cameras on street corners. It's clear. If the picture is clear. Surveillance cameras can be invaluable for catching criminals. The city of Sacramento is now on the move to join cities like Philadelphia, Baltimore and Chicago, increasing the number of surveillance cameras in public places. The city already has 300 cameras but there is no centralized monitoring station. Each department is responsible for its own cameras and right now they're not used to fight crime. When citizens walk public streets they are not constitutionally entitled to privacy, so there is nothing illegal about surveillance videos but being watched can make people uncomfortable. Even if they're not planning to do anything wrong.
